Honestly, Peter, it is marketed to the ladies and I suppose I can see why.  However, while there is definitely rose there, there seems to be something more.  In any event, this is invariably what I choose when I go for a rose scented shave.  Based on what I read on the C&E site, where the scent is described, there must have been a reformulation and folks are definitely not happy.  My bottle is old enough to be the original formulation.  Here is the page: http://www.crabtree-evelyn.com/collectio...28229.html.

Thanks much for the explanation Freddy! I saw that a few times and just haven't yet given it a shot.

My latest discovery in the rose category is Neela Vermeire's Mohur. Beautiful scent!

NeoXerxes , thanks for the headsup on the Penhaligon's sales. I have subscribed to their emails, and I will watch for a sale of the 5 ml set. I have been fairly successful with blind buys, but I think I should exercise more caution in the future. I have been learning more about scents and I think my nose is starting to appreciate them more, which appears to be leading me into more expensive territory.

No worries! Sampling first is the most efficient and least wasteful policy when you head into niche territory lol. Blind buys can get very expensive.

My scent today:

I'm definitely on testing this one. I'm just a bit behind on my fragrance review sampling lol Smile. I have a large sample pack coming soon from my generous sponsors, and it has been taking me a good chunk of time to make selections.

It was back to Guerlain Vetiver EdT this morning. What a great scent, at least for me.

Freddy the version in the ribbed bottle is one of my all time favorite vetivers. The balance is perfect!
