hawns it is a lesser known gem from a small British house, but I always enjoy the wear 
. It has a sheer and gin-like vibe to it that reminds me of fragrances like L'Humaniste, and that hemlock note adds both spice and sweetness. As you say, rich and elegant.

a small shot of L'eau d'Issey. A name that is a play on words is a bonus. I don't see a repurchase of this scent in my future. Anybody have an idea of the ingredient in this juice that makes me sneeze?
NeoXerxes , #2 son unfortunately had to get his pitching elbow looked at today in the city, so we wandered over to an AOS store. Any fears regarding the longevity of Endymion have been allayed. It does not act like the short-lived EdCs that I have tried in the past. Penhaligon's sells a set of 5 ml bottles of Sartorial, Endymion, Quercus and Blenheim Bouquet that I will probably buy in the near future for a more complete tryout. I sniffed all of them. I was surprised that I did not particularly like Blenheim Bouquet. From what I have read, I thought I would really enjoy that classic.

How did you like the scent of Endymion? As I mentioned it lasts and performs like a concentrated EDT for me lol, so I'm glad to hear that it didn't disappear on you. The 5 ml sets that Penhaligon's sells are a great way to try out their flagship products. Blenheim Bouquet is extraordinarily austere, but beautiful. It took me a few wearings to appreciate it, and the same was true for Sartorial (which I think is a masterpiece). The new 5 ml sets also include Bayolea, which is a lovely and hyper-modern take on a bay rum scent (though it is based around lemongrass).
Pro tip: These 5ml sets often go on sale during the various sales on the Penhaligon's website, usually at the end of each season.
On L'eau d'Issey Pour Homme, there could be lots of things that cause such a reaction. Ultimately it would be hard to isolate what is causing the allergy issue. But for whatever reason, generally speaking, I have more allergy issues with designer scents than with niche fragrances, so for reasons of self preservation I typically avoid fragrances like L'eau d'Issey lol.
