We are at the SC coast now waiting on the flyover (link below). Beach is packed. Great weather. Caught a full moon, or close, last night from the balcony.

Had a fresh shave last night too. The razor and brush stay in my bag. I slum it on the road.

If Im flying I bring my aluminum Henson, and just one soap. Generally just whatever I'm in the mood for, and my Maritime synthetic brush.

If I'm not going to have to deal with airport security I still bring only one razor but Im not as worried about it going missing or being a problem at security. Ill also generally bring my RV shaving synthetic brush if I'm not flying.

[Image: YoD7m6p.jpg]I’ve almost flown 3M miles.  So I am lucky I have stashes of DE blades although Europe, Asia and North America.

Next trip - Karve Overlander aluminum, Ethos shave stick, Rudy Vey 20mm bulb, no splash and Ethos skin food lotion.  I may throw in a tiny copper bowl this one - https://www.etsy.com/listing/717201287/

The secret to any trip, have blades where you are going so you don’t have to check a bag.

Far from slumming it, but I had TSA mess up a nice razor once.  Now, with anodized black so they can easily see no silver blade.  Happy to show a pic if anyone is interested.

*edited and added pic - brought a sample size old Ethos Success instead of shave stick and Cade balm instead of skin food lotion*

So when traveling by air I usually go carryon so no blades allowed which means either a cartridge razor (Gillette One Guard or Mach) or I buy blades at my destination. I have no issue taking a quality razor in a leather pouch when driving or if I’m buying blades.

For soap I’ve used lather free Ahava or put my soap in a smaller 2-3 oz container. If I want a bowl a collapsible silicone one (see Stirling) works great.

A synthetic brush in a used and cleaned spice container is perfect once I’ve drilled several holes in the cap to allow air circulation. Those original cardboard roll tubes that a brush may have been shipped in will also work as will a toilet roll tube.

Postshave products work best for me using sample sized aftershave bottles as you can decant into several which take up very little space. Also a partially used stypic pencil can be handy. All this can fit in a small toiletry bag or zip locks.

I just got back from a trip of 2400 miles by car. Fortunately, I followed the advice I posted in an earlier post in this thread and took items that were easily replaceable. Somewhere along the way, I misplaced my $10 synthetic brush and have yet to find it, even after returning home. It might still be hidden away somewhere and I might find it eventually. It is less stressful misplacing a $10 brush than it would have been if I had taken my favorite Saville Row silvertip badger.

Good thread.

So I have traveled by car 3 days a week for 19 weeks in a row. [I retired from a 40 year run in the oil industry, and started another job. WTH am I doing?]

2 brushes - 1 RR synthetic, 1 Simpson synthetic
2 soaps - choice varies by inclination/weather
1 blade [new Astra]
1 razor - Karve Aluminum or Timeless Ti
Proraso White ASB
ETHOS Honeysuckle AFS
Decant of TF Neroli Portofino
1 BAR of 4711 soap -

All items stored in black zipper bag. I use soft shaving rags for padding the items, and use those while on the road.

Thinking I need a hard case shave brief, with slots for the brush, razor, blades, soap, AFS, ASB and edp?

Synthetic brushes are great for the road.

Good plan. For me, I would forget or lose my wife and kids before I would forget or lose my brush/razor[s].
