Now THAT's a nice looking pen, Freddy ! I'm hopining my Simmons wedge comes out looking that nice...

The pieces are reasonably priced, as well. If I can get these scales made and pinned correctly, Im going to have to invest in much more material stocks, and buy out the rest of the vintage straights in my home town...maybe 8 or 10 more old blades out there waiting to be loved...

Flippin disappointing...I screwed up. I got all my scale materials last night and I measured all wrong and cant make the scales I want. Thr pieces are about an inch short of what I need. All of the pieces. Totally disappointed in myself...

Gonna have to otder some full-tang knife blades and make some knives because these materials are useless for razor scales...

Chris, many of us have made that kind of mistake.  If you do repurpose the materials and make knives out of them, won't you please post the results, perhaps in the Lounge.  As trite as the old saying is, it's still true: "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade."  Besides, new scale material will come into your life and those razor scales will be made. Well...I found some other sources that offer full sheets of the Kirinite material, and longer thin-cut panels of the exotic woods I like. This adventure isn't over by a long shot. The scales I already bought will eventually be applied as knife handles and new materials will be ordered as soon as I can.

In the meantime, I still have plenty of standard, local, non-exotic woods to work with...

That sounds like a great combination. I'll look forward to hearing your report.
