Dave, that handle is just asking for a 70/30 Badger/Boar Knot. Nice handle buddy.

Thanks Clayton. I actually considered that knot but had one that stayed scritchy and liked shedding. Still wonder if I just didn't giveit enough time but not putting one in here. Thinking a Cashmere or Brown synthetic but waiting to see it in person first. Happy2

Paul is working on its cousin for me. Already have a 2 band fan knot badger picked out and on its way to join the handle. Awesome work he does!

FWIW Dave, regarding the mixed knots...

My Shave Forge Mixed knot (20mm) came in the other day. It got set into the Rubberset handle on Friday and I tried to use it Saturday. I didn't get too far before the knot came loose. However, I can say that's one angry knot! Felt like pins and needles.

I think, with the badger taking up most of the knot, I was fooled into treating it like a Badger and that's when the boar "needles" really got me? An evil game of misdirection? Lol.

Whatever it was, it was re-glued and is destined to be a display piece only.

The Maggard's 70/30 has some hairs that definitely needed broken in but wasn't horrendous. I hate a shedder though and bet the shedders were the boar which leads you to wonder the point in the mixed knot since I foresaw it getting to a loose packed badger eventually........

Color me jealous... Those are the two scents I was eyeing there. Need to get through some soaps first... Too many.

I've seen Paul's reviews. I'll be watching for your opinion on them next.

I have the Maggards Mixed 70/30.

I would not recommend it. It has a ton of uncomfortable stitch.

I've test lathered it about 20 times and it still stinks and loses hairs. Maybe after 20 more lathers it will chill out. I'll probably give it away at some point.

Unfortunately for me, I had it enroute before chatted.

Luckily it was cheap and I needed something in the handle for display purposes, if nothing else.

Live and learn.

This M&F brush with blonde badger.  I hope I like the cobalt blue as much as I think I will. It was my choice, after all.
