Underneath that, it says “ProfiMed,” and on those blades at the bottom of the card, “Rapira”. I guess there’s your blade recommendation.

I have just one question, "Why?" In my opinion, there are too many razors that give superb shaves to have to put up with this unnecessarily dangerous (as in blade placement) gimmick.

Your call pal. Personally I love a good hack as is obvious from my posting history. I suppose there are guys who wouldn't hand load a trimmed AC blade in a Schick Repeating Razor in pursuit of the best possible shave, or hack blades to make their DeHaven, or Enders or whatever shaveable, I am not that guy. I think I'll survive this $7 experiment just fine, and from the reports, enjoy a terrific shave. And that's why I do it :-) .

I'm not seeing the reason for breaking the blade. It seems like an unnecessary step, to me, and if you didn't do that step, you wouldn't need to verify alignment as much, making it much less of a PITA to use. Is there a reason behind that?
I received a package today that has nothing to do with shaving, but has me just as excited. I got new steering links for my remote control rock crawler. The big gathering is next month, and this was the last big repair before it. Everything else is just spare parts and crawling. It's the same weekend as my daughter's 13th birthday, so I got her a nice rig of her own, and we're celebrating her birthday playing with remote control cars in the mud, snow, and rocks of Lake Tahoe with 1,000 other hobbyists. It is gonna be a flippin' BLAST!!
Here's a picture of my rig:

Breaking the one blade with the spacer between ensures both blades are cutting at the proper angle simultaneously, otherwise you'd be shaving with one at a time.

Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
