I am very close to finishing a couple of tubs of my favorite shaving soaps.  I only have about one more shave left from my Barrister & Mann Cheshire, for example (and was fortunate enough to pick up another at the St. Louis meet-up trade table so thank you hawns) but what can I do with these tubs?  Besides recycling, I am looking for ideas as to how they can be repurposed?  It seems a shame to just throw them out, especially with the beautiful artwork on some of them.

Every one from the simple line drawings on Scritchnscrub's Desmond's Barrow metal tins to the instantly recognizable green lids of ezlovan's Stirling to DeclarationGrooming's L&L Grooming to Ryan @ Tallow + Steel's Tallow + Steel, to Barrister_N_Mann's Barrister and Mann gorgeous artwork to classics like Taylor of Old Bond Street and Geo. F. Trumper creams seem to be worth saving for other uses, but what?  Does anyone have good ideas?

A bunch of things:

1. buy soap refills (Mystic Water, Mike's, Stirling, Haslinger, MWF, Arko etc)

2. Use for samples

3. Transfer soap from containers you don't like to containers you like (Cella, Poraso to B&M Container for example)

4. Make Franken soap

I think @"iamsms" got the idea. So far I've used them to put soap from bad time into better tins or for refills. I have a couple of Sudsy Soapery soaps in small tins that were awful to lather so I never used them. Now that I've transferred them into old B&M tubs I use them and understand why SS is so highly regarded by some.

Other uses could be to hold hobby stuff or, to hold various salt/seasoning mixes for rimming the rims of margarita or caesar glasses - you could have more than just plain salt Smile

Now that's clever, even if I probably wouldn't do it. (I don't tend to drink salt rimmed cocktails.)

Loose change as I walk in the door. One L&L full of quarters, one Sudsy Soapery full of dimes & starting again with an empty Wholly Kaw.

That's what I thought, too, but suddenly that favorite soap has a doughnut hole at the bottom of the tub and before you know it... all gone! Big Grin
