Wow, this is my winning combination. I had some spare Feathers a few months ago, and I thought, what the heck, I've hated them in almost any other razor, lets try one in the S1. It was MAGICAL. I get the best shaves of my life with Feather/ATT S1 combo.

I've used the Feather in the S2 as well and it gives a very solid shave, but I believe I prefer the Gillette Silver Blue in the S2 for now. Perhaps in 6 more months I'll try a Feather in the S2 again.

If you haven't already tried the combo, give Israeli Personna Blues a shot in the S2. With that combo and Feathers in the S1, I can get perfect BBS every time.

I shave first thing in the morning after I shower. Nothing goes through my mind. I just zone out and enjot the smell and feel of everything. With the hours I work, nine month old son, and other life things going on shaving is my zen.

The OneBlade has spoiled me. I intended to go back to one of my DE's today, thought "nah", and loaded up another Gem in the OneBlade for another extremely comfortable and close shave. NancyBoy shave cream is underrated IMO.

If I leave the lather pasty, my first pass is solid, but the next two passes suck.  If I try to wet the lather a little more and make it slicker, I feel like the soap has no cushion.  I love the scent of Windsor, and every time I go to use it, I pick it up in its great container and I think, man I'm going to have a great shave, it just doesn't turn out that way. Am I missing something? I load the LIVING CRAP out of my brush.  Tons and tons of soap.

Luckily, I have the DR Harris Windsor aftershave which is incredible, and makes me feel better.

I have had the same issues with Crabtree & Evelyn soap. No matter what I do, I cannot keep that soap wet enough. It always dries out midway through my pass, leaving me with a sticky, non-protective shave. Even adding water as I go, it dries out before I can compelte a full pass.

So I avoid it. The last puck I have is used as a hand soap in the bathroom...

Yeah, the sad thing is, I sprung for the very nice container for it and everything. I live where water is soft as a baby's butt too. It just seems like I cannot get DR Harris to the point of even some of my lower tier artisan products as far as performance. I reckon I'll keep playing with it, perhaps I'll find the sweet spot one day.
