The camera was very dusty so I used a duster and then a damp cloth to clean it.
It photographed like a solid lump of textureless coal. Dead black!
I took a small cloth and wrapped it around a teaspoonful of flour then patted it as I held it over the camera. A little dusting with a small paintbrush and it was ready for its debut.
It was a most cooperative subject.

Currently Nikon D3300, i have multiple senses and filters and all that jazz.

I've been a fan of nikon since my youth when my father bought me my first in Hong Kong, a model purchased there before it hit the market in the states. I've used a few other brands since but i keep returning to nikon.

If it's not my nikon then it's my cell phone. ha ha ha

This is a single lens reflex. It has a focal plane shutter that goes from T (Time-Locks it open) to 1/1000 second. When set at T it will remain open and a lens with a shutter can be mounted on the front as this is. Peering into the hood one can use the SLR feature for focus and viewing. When viewing at the back there is a ground glass for focussing and viewing.
It used glass plates or with an accessory back, roll film or sheet film,
It is very versatile splendid old thing but bulky and heavy.

No, I am sorry. I rarely took pictures with my collected cameras

but I always checked them to be sure they were capable of taking a picture.

The digital age made silver photos too expensive even in my own darkroom.
