Schick Instamatic Band Razors.
These razors used a strip of stainless steel long enough for either 5, 6 or 10 single edge blades. It was tightly wound into a replaceable plastic cartridge. When the blade had to be replaced merely moving a little lever brought a new edge into position. My first blade on a roll of six blades gave me an unbelievable 43 BBS shaves of mostly 3 passes and a touch up before I moved to blade two on the strip.
The notebook is my record of its shaves on the first blade.
It was produced as far as I can determine from the 1960's to the 1970's. Manufacturers made money not on selling razors but on the hundreds of blades sold for each razor.
The Band had a very low blade appetite.
The picture also shows two blister packed models and the back of one card as well as a still packaged 10 blade cartridge.

Mickey, I had the Gillette equivalent back in the late '60s and it was an absolute face eater.  I hated it.  Maybe the Schick version was better, though they look almost identical and the concept is the same, but even if I could try one now, I wouldn't.  YMMV and all that. Tongue

Freddy,

When I was researching the Schick I came across several mentions of the similar Gillette.
It turned out to be a less than desireable instrument of torture.
I did not read the details. I was forewarned and that was sufficient.

I am presently on shave number four of blade 3 of the Schick. so far so good.

Freddy,

I don't know how to respond in the "Recent Alerts" .
I hope this is OK for "What cameras do you use?"

I always had a camera with me for most of my life. It grew with me until my standard equipment was my - as good as I could afford - primary camera and a lesser one just in case camera that never was needed, 3 lenses, a flashgun and 12 bulbs. before electronic flashes, extra films, some filters , spare batteries and a tripod or monopod, a notebook and camera owner's manual.. Filters were generally Skylight, Yellow, Polarizing and Neutral Density.
.
Then came arthritis. Now it is one small point and shoot with some manual controls and it must have an eye level viewfinder. Filters, Batteries, monopod/walking stick, apple juice and chocolate bar in case of hypoglycemia and a notebook and owner's manual.
My primary preferred to use camera which comes with me when photography is the main purpose of my outing is a Pentax K5 single lens reflex with 12 to 24mm extreme wide angle zoom lens, a Tamron 28 to 90mm 'standard' zoom and my favourite Quantaray 70 to 300mm Macro zoom. It gets most of my shots which can go from insects and flowers to wildlife and even, though rarely, sports. Landscapes are my favourite subjects. A not too far away horticultural garden is number two. You will notice that the three lenses' focal lengths overlap or come very close to doing so.
Both of these cameras have a not quite satisfactory built in flash which is used primarily to fill in dark shadows. I don't like flash but it can on occasion be very useful even on bright sunny days,
But always before all else - my family. They are my subjects and sometimes my accessories.

Freddy,

I fear once again I have messed up the messages by misunderstanding this line as a question to me.

In the what, Mickey in the "RECENT POSTS".

I don't understand.

Neither do I most of the time when dealing with electronic paraphernalia.

I can explain further if you wish, Freddy, by explaining my medical adventures of the last 3-1/2 weeks.

Fuji X100F (love it, had the S and T, and apparently got a good copy of the F), iPhone 6 with upgrade coming, and maybe soon a Fuji Xpro2 (had the XPro1).

This one was done last year in Paris with the 8MP iPhone 6 on a cloudy, spitting rain morning. It's been a favorite of everyone.

Cheers, Steve
