None of my other moderns have even come close to that level of performance for that price.

With that said, I have never had a DE that cost more than $50, so to many people, everything I have used would be considered "budget conscious". I have no high end experience to compare to...

Shame they apparently stop producing the mr22 handle because no one was buying them

It is a shame because in my opinion, it is truly a beautiful piece of work, and the heavy weight makes the V3 head a genuine, bona-fide, whisker plow. 3 passes, no touchups, BBS...every time.

It is a little rough around the edges on the finish but delivers the goods- looks tough as much as a razor can. The Gentile [$33] is the Fatip SB version which is also solid but I do prefer the OC personally.

Winner. While it takes a little work to adjust the blade, I get consistently smooth, close shaves with my Fatip Grande. While it's splitting hairs (pun intended) to pick between my top 5 razors, I might be getting some of my best shaves from the Fatip. It really is a great razor.

The fatip grande really does take the cake, it's awesome. I have the gentile too which it is not as gentle in feel as it claims to be, it's still aggressive but not as efficient as the grande. Got both in black and gold color, awesome shavers

Completely agree Blagoja Rajevski . The Gentile hit and people were mentioning how mild it was - I think mainly based on the name not the performance. It is definitely a mid to aggressive razor but I really like the Grande much better!

1. Maggard OC V2 $25-33 with handle. Efficient shaver with a stainless steel handle.
2. Gillette Tech prewar usually under $20. I found the prewar to work better than later versions.
3. Gillette Superspeed flare tip usually under $20. I always get nice comfortable shaves with these.
4. Schick Krona usually under $20. Mild and requires a bit more touch up, but the results are the same as the others.
5. Gillette Super Adjustable usually under $30. I really like the balance of this razor.

The prices on 2-4 would most likely be user grade condition, but still shave fine. I'm kind of a sucker for vintage razors. They were just built so well.
