What a difference a blade makes (GSB)

(X-posted in General Shave Talk). About two weeks ago I received my WR2 from Wolfman (1.15 DE standard polish).  Had a WR1 and wanted to try the 2.  I reflexively started using it with the blades I like best in my WR1 -- Bic and Personna. Neither felt right.  Then tried a Feather and a 7 O'Clock Yellow.  I just couldn't get an easy and comfortable a shave.  I was about to give up on the razor and BST it, but then I opened my blade pouch and saw a GSB, a blade I rarely use as I find a bit mild in my other razors.  Well, I tried it.  Bam!  The razor just clicked in.  Thinking it was perhaps a fluke, I've now done three shaves with two GBS, and always a fine result.  Went back to a 7 O'Clock; didn't like it again.  So, basically, the lesson is that trying a different blade can make a world of difference. At least it did for me.

I've always said it's the combo of razor and blade, not one or the other.

In my case, I don't match blades to razors but actually the other way around...

If a razor doesn't get along with Polsilver or BIC blades, it doesn't stay in my den.

Yup. I've tried several times to like Feathers, but I'd end up moving back to smoother blades like Astra SP or Shaverboy.
With the Henson AL13 Mild, it's a world of difference. Maybe it's the precise clamping by the Henson.
With care, I can now use Feathers in my (fairly mild) EJ DE87 too.

I kinda' like GSB, but not enough to pay the extra $$$.

I don’t find it very useful to talk about a razor or a blade by itself. I find GSBs in the Envoy good, but in the Henson meh. No blade felt good in the Yaqi Aggressive Slant. That thing just peeled me.
