Hey Guys,

I don't have an official social venue to post this (I don't have Facebook and Twitter of course limits you to 140 characters), and I'm hoping this post doesn't violate any rules here. I wanted to put out there that I am publishing a new podcast, with support form Mark over at Sharpologist, and explain the idea behind the show.

A while back I was looking for easy ways to gather industry news. I was looking for a simple, consolidated source for new product releases and industry news. I also wanted to find out more about the people behind the companies. They're soap makers, sure, but unless you live within a reasonable distance to their shop or a meet-up/event they're attending, their About Us page is pretty much all you'll get.

So I started my first podcast, which was rough and tumble to say the least. It was hosted on Podbean, and I realized pretty quickly that it was going to be a costly endeavor. After purchasing the equipment (really the biggest investment), I had used up my entire shaving fund (I have two budgets, Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter). So I started a crowd-funding campaign to help the cost of hosting. During that time, Mark from Sharpologist contacted me and mentioned he was looking to provide similar content, but didn't have the time to produce a show. He offered to host the podcast at Sharpologist for me, and so that's where the show is hosted now.

The third episode just came out this morning (you can hear it at sharpologist.com or wetshavingnews.com), and it features an interview with Carrie and Darren from Soap Commander. There's also a giveaway of, courtesy of Carrie and Darren, a jar of their Endurance scented soap (a fantastic fragrance to be sure). For now, the giveaway is done via Twitter, it's explained in the show, but starting with out next episode on 7/15 we'll be doing contest entries via Survey Monkey for a variety of reasons.

In addition, I will be doing the interview with Anthony from DeLuxe Shaving Company (our Guest for 7/15) this weekend. If you have any questions you would like to hear answered, please let me know and I will be sure to ask him during the interview. Anthony, thanks for willing to come on the show!

Thanks,
Andrew

P.S.: I am working on a schedule to do an interview with Andrew, the proprietor of DFS as well (looking into scheduling and availability) so that will be coming down the pipeline as well!

Hi Andrew,

I subscribed as soon as I learned about your podcast on Sharpologist.  I've really enjoyed the episodes to date.  The format works very well, it is well presented and informative and I am looking forward to hearing your interviews with other artisans in the future.  Keep up the good work.
