Anytime I've used West Coast shaving  ,it's probably been at least 2 or 3 year,  there wasn't any problems and good shipping ti
mes.

The horrific review quoted is from October 2023, and there are similarly bad ones more recently, from 2024.  Seems things have gone precipitously downhill since your dealings with this seller.

A good shave is a small act of reclaiming order, a ritual of renewal . . . We all have moments when life becomes unruly. It’s fitting from time to time to recognize the quiet courage it takes to find one’s way back. Bouki

Anything's possible I'm wondering what the reviews say from farther back?

Absolutely terrible customer service

Absolutely terrible customer service. I placed an order through Amazon and after almost a month I received a wrong order. When I filed a return request, the representative insisted that I received the correct order, which was a blatant lie. Now I am trying to reach them but no one is picking up their phone and the representative has not replied to my email after 2 days. One of the worst examples of customer service I have ever encountered.

Date of experience: April 18, 2018.

Well if I was in your shoes I probably wouldn't order anything from them.

It's not as though I need more soap . . . Character

Well I found something out I didn't know about West Coast Shaving.
I haven't bought anything off of their site in a long time but they're shipping rates are very expensive.
I was able to get an on sale soap and splice set for about the same price I could have got it somewhere else for if it would have been in stock, only because  it was marked down considerably.
I believe the place has went downhill.

West Coast Shaving has razor handles that pretty much fit any 3 piece razor either vintage or modern. The King Camp Gillette razor with it's ungrippable handle is easily fixed with their 110BR handle, the Fat Elvis. They are a reputable marketplace. Don't hesitate to do business with them. THey're legit.

West Coast Shaving is still a legit vendor. Although the owners live on the West Coast (LA area), their products ship from a warehouse in Myrtle Beach, SC. Most of the shipments I have received from them have come through UPS Surepost where UPS moves the package from Myrtle Beach to your local post office and USPS makes the final delivery. Whether that arrangement is good or bad depends upon where you live and how many packages UPS might have coming into your area. I live in the Chicago suburbs. We normally get pretty good service from UPS, but there have been a few instances of unusual delays. If you live in rural Wyoming other sparsely populated area, deliveries might take a while.

When purchasing from WCS, always compare their prices less any current incentives to pricing elsewhere. Sometimes the WCS base prices are significantly higher than other vendors, but after incentives are deducted, the price might be comparable. It is kind of like Menard's that offers a 11% rebate on everything in the store, but the prices are jacked up offset the rebate. The company offers a lot of house branded products. Whenever you do a search of their web site, these brands usually show up first. I have not used these house brands, so I cannot comment on the quality,

RayClem The warehouse in Myrtle Beach has been permanently closed several months ago and WCS has moved to a new address in PA.

I will add that the order I put in with West Coast did get shipped out in a reasonable amount of time, so no problem with the shipping here.
