I think its useful to keep threads like this one active. Not to continue to bash a vendor who so clearly deserves bashing, bot rather to remind members to be careful who they send their money to. I've been shopping online for several years now, I think its the ideal man's way to shop. You do your research, point, click and it shows up in a few days/weeks. No trip to the mall and all the misery that entails. Too easy. And thats the problem. Too easy. I've had overwhelmingly positive experiences shopping online, however, it has to be kept in mind that sometimes things go south. Some vendors are just incompetent and some are maybe just crooked. We can learn this through first hand experience (ouch) or by reading reviews and threads such as this one. To be fair, one bad experience isn't fatal, however, when the experience isn't a one shot deal like a package was lost or mis-shipped but an on-going course of conduct like the one described in this thread indicates a deeper problem. I'm of the view that sometimes stuff happens and the test of a good vendor/artisan/mechanic/salesperson etc is what they do next. Do they fix the problem to the customer's satisfaction or do they just ignore the problem because seriously? What are you going to do? Go all the way over to Spain and punch him in the nose? Its easy in the e-commerce world to just ignore complaints, emails, angry customers etc. It would be much harder in a brick and mortar establishment when he angry mob was at he door with torches and pitchforks Big Grin I'm all for keeping these sorts of threads alive.

Thanks, these are the exact reasons why I think this thread is and should still be relevant. I'm in Scotland , so believe me when I say an inexpensive flight to Spain did cross my mind, lol!

One moral of this story is to remember that there are a LOT of brush vendors to buy from without all this drama. Romera doesn't make "the best" handles, nor does he make his own knots (he gets them from China like everyone else). His prior generation brushes are rather nice, but I wasn't impressed with his current batch.
I'd rather spend my money with a worthy vendor. Caveat Emptor.

The knot in question is very nice but not nice enough for me ever to recommend taking a chance because there is a fair chance you will be disappointed for a whole number of reasons.

I think a new thread titled "Artesania Romera PSA - How was your recent experience" would be more appropriate.

I learn from history. I would have no issue with the new thread referencing previous problems. I would be interested in seeing if service and quality improved or still unacceptable.

I have a year old 2 Band 30mm in acrylic well taken care of and the knot separated a couple of weeks ago. Two part epoxy fixed it.

Nice hair but overpriced and it really wasn't worth the two month wait for delivery.

He's not worth it.

I too loved the rustic chubby style handle and had contemplated getting one but had read similar stories in other forums regarding quality control and customer service but this one was the final nail in the coffin for me.
