I feel the standard of service provided by Gustavo is so bad that it warrants this thread being visible for people to make a decision when deciding to order from Artesania Romera or not.

Still no replacement brush has came in the mail though, lol!

Did you make a claim via PayPal or your credit card and, hopefully, receive a refund?

Unfortunately in my naivety I allowed him to string me along long enough for the claim time limit to expire. That's strangely when he first began to ignore my correspondence.

So then the real moral of the story is to communicate with the vendor if the order does not ship properly. If you don't have the item in your hot little hands by the payment claim expiration date, cancel the order and reverse the charges on the payment.

That holds true for any vendor and anything online. Once the expiration date is reached, you are screwed. It is not just about one vendor.

Problem being the brush that required significant repair work done to it had been sent back to him and then returned again to me only for the same thing to happen again. He then promised a replacement to be sent out ASAP which at the time I could only believe he would have came good on his promise but he told stories of family members being ill etc, etc and the expiry ran out. All this detail is in my original , admittedly long post.

That is unfortunate and I am sorry that you lost money. You do bear, however, a slight responsibility for your lack of vigilance. We've all been there and I would wager that you will never find yourself in this position again.

True I won't suffer that again but in all fairness it's a bit unfair to lay any blame at my door. The man lied to me and told me several stories of woe as to why my item hadn't arrived on time. If someone says a close family member is gravely Ill in hospital, what do I say to that? He's a grown man and should act as such, particularly when he has taken money to provide goods and services. Like you say , it won't happen again to me particularly since I'll never buy from him again or anyone who has an inkling of a shady character to him.

Then just report it to the appropriate authorities as a case of wire fraud and be done with it. If investigators contact him, you can bet he will get the message even if he does not send you your brush. If they do not contact him, things are no worse off than they are now. Yeah, it sucks being scammed. It is water under the bridge now, and you have done all you can. Consider the purchase price a small fee paid for an important lesson learned. That lesson will save you a lot more over time than it cost.

Extending this thread any further won't do much to make it more visible to online searches. I think a better course of action would be to encourage others who had similar experiences to start their own threads on the matter. One person can be dismissed as a sorehead, especially by those hoping to find only good news. If a number of people report the same experience, that would carry additional weight.

Thanks for your concern and advice but like I've said it's not something I want to expend any new energy on as far as seeking new interactions over this.
If people contact me regarding this I have no problem as the original poster replying etc though. I think thats only the polite thing to do if someone takes the time to comment or create activity on the thread

I was afraid when I made my last post that you would take offense. That was not my intention.

No offence taken, honestly don't worry about it. It's such a long and convoluted story sometimes I even forget the timeline of what happened and when. It's certainly not worth falling out with anyone over. Thanks.
