I want to buy a couple of absolute crap straight razors that I can try and hone.

I am seriously getting the urge to get into straight razors and hones, but I do not want to jump in and spend $500 right out of the gate. I have a decent 1000grit stone and a really nice hard ceramic polishing stone, and I'm going to invest in a "real" set of Norton hones in the very near future. I can justify that kind of purchase because I am a fan of knives, and a sharp knife is a safe knife.

What I DON'T want to do is buy a useable straight and destroy it.

So...I want to practice. Get out that garbage straight with active rust and pits and chips and ruined scales that you will never use, and sell it to me. Let me work on that blade until it is either gone or sharp, so I can get a basic understanding of bevel setting, honing and stropping before I make the purchase of a nice straight for myself. Got a few sitting in a drawer that you'v been wondering what to do with? Make a couple bucks off of my interest, and clear up some space for some useable products.

Let's make a deal!

Well I'm at work at the moment and don't know off the top of my head. It's American made, round tip, 3' long and I believe it a 5/8. Bought it for the same reason you want it but just never needed up getting the honing stones...

OK. So what are you looking to get for it? I wouldn't mind seeing a picture, too, if possible...I understand you're at work...I can wait...

Not much, I was thinking maybe like $20 shipped? Does that sound like the right price range?
