I consider myself fortunate in that I can get a perfect shave with a Gillette Tech. I have tried some artisan razors and usually it was "chasing rainbows" for me. I like any Schick injector as well as most shave exactly alike.

Prep, good soap/cream & good technique are 95% of the battle IMO. No "Wolfie" for me.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Absolutely on the prep and my experience with wet shaving regardless of the razor. I've used hundreds of different ones over a 10 year period that none shaved so well that they stood out from the pack. Some worked better with a certain blade, some were cosistent with different blades, some gave BBS shaves that were rough and not so rough, etc. but none have been in league of their own.
