I recently picked up a vintage Gem, gold tone with the black Bakelite handle. To the guys more experienced with this razor, what is your blade of choice? I ordered the stainless and the stainless/coated Gems. Are there any other choices out there?

Great razor. Same as Andrew I buy the Gem blades from Amazon and get great/comfortable shaves with these.

As stated the PTFE GEMs are the most readily available and quality blade.

They may be described as stainless steel PTFE coated.

When you want them in bulk to save $ in the long term, get back to us and we'll steer you in the right direction.

Today's shave with my Gem, my 2nd try, went as better than I hoped. I improved my angle and pressure and had a great shave. I also had 2 days growth which I believe is what that razor needs.

GEM blades can't be beat.

They are excellent.

Remember - almost no pressure for best results.
