This is the 4th time I have used this cream and I have to say I like it. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was looking for something decent and unscented to use with unmatched soaps/creams. I wasn't sure what to expect from the brand and having picked it up on Amazon. Not to say you can't get something that works well for you there or get something that doesn't from a known artisan vendor. On to the shave and the results:

The consistency of the cream itself is a bit on the thick side. It is definitely not a thin, runny cream. After loading my brush with a bit more than I would likely need (I can't seem to help that), I had no problem whipping up a nice, slick, hydrated face lather. The 1st WTG pass was nice, the razor glided nicely and it was smooth and comfortable. For the second XTG pass I was easily able to get a good lather and excellent coverage. Not thin, no skin spots showing through. The second pass again was effortless and nice. For the 3rd ATG pass my lather and coverage was equal to my second pass with plenty left over. 2 passes with this cream, my Overlander, and King C. Gillette blade was definitely good enough but I do chase that BBS. At least on my face/cheeks. The cream also has a very good residual slickness between passes for touch ups or missed spots if needed.

This cream works well for me and I would recommend it if you're in the market for an unscented cream at a good price. It sells fro $9.88 for 5.3oz/150g. This comes out to approximately $1.86/oz. I think this is a bargain. Especially with some good, face/skin friendly ingredients which I will list. I did save almost abuck with some coupons and promotions and my box came with 20% off my next purchase if you wish to stock up. Also, note that the cream is made in China.

Ingredients:
Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Water, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract (Golden Chamomile), Ricinus Communis Oil (Castor Oil), Hammamelis Virginiana Extract (Witch Hazel), Aloe Vera, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerol, Sorbitol, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantoin.

Made in China? That is a first for me.

I often wonder about heavily marketed, but otherwise unkown brands like this one. First-who pays for all the marketing?

Second, why would you name a shaving product after a race that was known for not shaving?

All valid questions. I was hesitant because I'm not sure of anyone else sells it besides Amazon and the company direct. I finally decided based on price and ingredients. And yes, I did happen to notice it stated Made in China under the ingredient list. Honestly, I never put the Viking/shaving concept together!

That sort of advertising puzzles me.

I know one product sold under the "Centurion" brand and they use a graphic of a Greek Hoplite helmet to sell it.

Drives me nuts!

Sorry for taking your thread off topic.

Back on topic. I don't think I would buy a "made in China" product if I had good alternatives.
