I have both plates and have been using the OC SS as a daily driver for months. I will go back to the SB Ti next blade change and report back.

I don’t recall much difference frankly. The difference in weight is, OTOH, very noticeable.

Does the OC stay any clearer from hair: e.g., is the blade edge less covered in hair when disassembling post shave?

Hm. Not that I’ve noticed.

I shave every other day. Sometimes it is three days before I shave again. I just received my SS OC base plate this week and it did well with two day's growth (with my Ti Vector top cap and handle). I look forward to seeing how it does with three day's growth. I am expecting the OC base plate will handle longer whiskers without getting bogged down.

I decided to compare the weight of my Ti SB base plate with my SS OC base plate.

Here were the weights according to my coffee scale:
Ti SB base plate, machined finish: 7.1 g
SS OC base plate, machined finish: 12.6 g

There was only a 5.5g difference between the two.

Since I am used to heavier razor heads, this weight difference did not impact my shave technique. Since I bought the OC plate specifically for shaving 3+ day growth, the extra weight would probably be equal to the extra pressure I would have applied to shave through that level of growth.

I shaved 3 days worth of growth this morning using the Blackland Vector Ti with stainless steel OC base plate and Kai Captain Blade. The OC plate did not get bogged down in the 3 day growth like the Ti SB plate did in the past for the same amount of growth. I am pleased with the SS OC base plate.

Still can't understand why Ti OC base wasn't available soon after the titanium Vectors came out. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

We make these decisions based on available sales data and pricing. OC is more expensive to produce due to the OC teeth and it's also a small minority of sales. That small demand makes the product even more expensive to produce because we don't get economies of scale. So that compounding effect led us to decide that Ti OC production wasn't the best use of our resources.
