Just got a notification....prices from $500 (sorry, 495 ) - $535

I'll be interested to see how this works.

$535 for a 29mm is taking the piss. Bigly.
Time will tell.

Just saw the email. No mention of custom lofts from what I can tell. My low light Ranger XD arrived today and I’m glad I got in at the price I paid.

Good move by him. Instead of flippers, he will make money now. And anyone can order anytime, customize their order, can order as many as they want. Win Win situation if you ask me.

hmmm  Asset bubble is everywhere (akin to savoir faire being everywhere, eh?).  Going to be nasty when this pops.

Up to $660 for a production brush is definitely aspirational

Haha...my sister used to say the Savoire Faire thing to me all the time when I was little....haven't heard it in a while.

I've been saying the same about the asset bubble. This can't last forever.

It will be interesting to see if these prices will attract customers in large enough numbers to be successful....I dont recall
seeing any Varlets being flipped (ie. sold unused) for $535....most people hang on to theirs or trade....I think 535 can get you
a wolfman Ti razor if directly ordered. And razors unlike brushes last forever.

Yeah, I thought the same about the flipping. Until tonight, retail was around $300+ (plus shipping and CA sales tax for some). I don't recall seeing many brushes selling for much more than that lately, certainly not for the price of current retail.

I haven’t seen any Varlets go past their retail personally. I see people typically hold them for trades for larger items. Looks like an Orion from Varlet is off the list.

Just imagine if Super Bowl organisers thought like The Varlet:
people are flipping our tickets for $7,000...since we want to make that
money, let's price our tickets at $7,000 from now on.
