Apples and oranges to compare Scott's $1000 custom to Aldo's $600 made to order, IMO.

Aldo let's you pick ala carte from a fairly specific list of options.  Pick X shape...pick X color...pick X size...pay the man and wait.  Maybe an oversimplification but not much,

For Scott's $1000 you specify colors for YOUR pour...and you get 3 attempts to boot.  If, after 3 attempts to get a handle to your liking, you are not satisfied, your $1000 gets refunded.  I am also pretty certain Scott would do a truly custom handle shape...he would probably tie a bulb knot for you too.

Exactly, im planning on buying a Varlet in the near future. Not my brush it is from a user on Reddit but this is an example of what you can get on the Declaration custom order.

Is that for real? Dope design with the lightning being glow in the dark if that is real! I would say that I would possibly pay $1000 for something like that!

I believe this was a one time only design. Was not made as part of a custom order. Scott made it, posted photos, and a friend made a very generous offer and it changed hands.

George - the lighting shows up like that when lit from below on a display pedestal. It doesn’t glow on its own if that makes sense.

That's an awesome handle...but I'm sure a $1000 bill would get him to attempt another...at least 3 times Smile

I've read a couple of times all details of the The Varlet site.
And of course, made an infographic about specs.

Nice shape, nice knot, great details.
But I think the price is about time.

Time to find the perfect material.
Time to work it perfectly.
Time to adjust invisible details, as copper inside.
Time to make a dream becoming real.
Time to create an experience, more than a product.

Wow. I could get lost in there.

I appreciate the explanation of the difference between Varlet and DG custom.

Varlet is more about technics.
DG is more about art.
Both are great, in different way.

weren't you complaining about a $600 brush in this very thread, then post about a $1,000 brush?

Nah. I dont think I "complained". You can dig back and prove me wrong I suppose, maybe. I really dont care what Aldo charges for his brushes, nor what Scott charges for his. I can have opinions tho...based on my experience with both brands. I guess I did complain about Aldos customer service..
Not his price...in fact, while typing, I recall sorta defending Aldo's $500+ pricing because i know for fact there are guys that pay that for his poo on the secondary market. Yeah, maybe you got me mixed up with the troublemaker OP? Ha!

In this post tho, I was simply clarifying the difference in the two systems and I think I'm 100% correct. Not trying to justify either brand, boss.

FWIW, I'd not pay more than say $350 on any brush but that dosnt restrict me from commenting on them. That's why your site is here...no?
