Well it’s been a long journey but I can finally announce that the Vanilla Safi has been officially released and live on the ETHOS Grooming Essentials website. This is a special release and as I’ve explained in detail a project that took almost a year to complete mostly because of the Madagascar Vanilla bean infusion that took over 10 months to complete. The soap is 100% pure Vanilla that also includes Vanilla absolute which if anyone is familiar with is very expensive which very much contributes to the price of the this one of a kind shave soap as there’s never been a pure Vanilla shave soap made as far as anyone knows of which includes 6 well known soap maker friends of mine and I’ve never seen one in the 20 years I’ve been into the wet shaving community. The base is a modified version of my newest M base and based on the feedback I’ve gotten from my testers the best ETHOS base yet. FYI the newer M base if noticeably firmer than the former M base soaps and the Vanilla Safi is the 2nd M base soap that’s firmer which also includes the latest batch of the Greenfresh aroma shave soap which is also now up on the website.
I realize that this soap is not for everyone as it’s by far the most expensive ETHOS shave soap I’ve made so far.
The Shave soap comes in 4 sizes.
1. The custom shaving bowl which are almost gone as of today with the last 3 bowls on there way from Tim at Knothead. The mold is spent so unfortunately when they are gone their gone.
2. The 7.5 oz jars. It wasn’t in my original plan to offer this size but I had a request from a customer for one so I thought why not make a few available so I filled some and are available on the website.
3. The 4 oz size is generously filled and more like 4.5 oz as I like the way it looks better in jar. Which by the way is commonly referred to in the cosmetic industry as an “ aesthetically filled “ which is when a bottle or jar is filled to look good in the container. The labels where printers before the soap was filled so it says 4 oz which is less than what’s in the jar. I made more of this size and this is the first shave soap to go into my new 4 oz jars which are of the same quality as my 7.5 oz jars that some are familiar with which is the same jar as MDC uses as a reference.
This size will also be available through some of my vendors in the next week or so.
4. I made a decent amount of the 1oz Travel size for those that want to try an authentic pure Vanilla shave soap but the other sizes are not in their budget and obviously for those that do travel and want to take it with them.
Below is a photo of all 4 of the sizes available at this moment. Not the greatest photo so forgive my photography skills. Not sure how long this limited release is going to be available based on the first days sales.
