The claim that cartridges can last up to a month is completely true. Assuming that you only shave once a month. I also feel I must speak up in defence of the Feather AS-D2 - its one of my favourite razors. I have a relatively coarse beard and I can get a very comfortable BBS shave from the feather/feather combination without drama. I will grant you that the AS-D2 seems to be a polarizing razor, those that like it, like it a lot but there seems to be a contingent that has no time for it. Thats ok with me.

I'm not saying, that people with coarse thick beards can't use the Feather AS-D2, just saying that after 25+ shaves, trying every angle known to mankind, it still could not cut more than 25% of my stubbles, unless I tried shaving with it daily.
Since I normally shave 4 times a week, and like a bit of stubble, I rarely needed the AS-D2, and as soon as I tried it on 2 days of stubble, it could not cut my stubble.
The first version was so dull, that I honestly had problems cutting a slice in my finger - and I always used it with brand new Feather DE baldes in it.
The second version, which came in 2014-2015 did a far better job. It actually could cut stubble...WoW. But still it had no chance against my 2 days stubble.
I know it works for many other Gentlemen, but just not for me. As soon as I pulled out my R41 or my Plisson or my ATT H1/H2, my stubble were gone in 2 passes for a BBS.
