TSN is no more

TSN was the first forum I joined when I jumped back into wet shaving, and I got a lot of information that helped me get started. I poured over the threads researching razors, blades, aftershaves and soaps. Over the last month or so I noticed there were very few new threads and the posts started to diminish. Not sure why people lost interest, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Thank you, Phil.

I had a long chat with Phil about this time last yr. One of his heavy-handed mods deleted a post I made. I learned some things from the vendor POV, and his POV as the site owner. I wish his business well but I won't miss TSN. DFS really is the place to be. I saw this from TSN facebook.

Could expound and opine but being mean spirited makes not the world a better place; this post summarizes the etiology of TSN's demise well.

If there a lesson, it one need select moderators wishing to make a forum a positive place, inviting to diverse opinion yet civil and respectful of others; when a bad choice made, the moderator need be removed before they destroy the forum.

I really like Phil but I had some negative experiences with some of the mods on TSN too. I have no idea why some of them seemed to be so heavy handed over minor issues.

Some good people there. A lose for the shave community as a whole as I have no desire nor relish seeing the demise of a shave forum.  But, as fellow shave brother DanLaw stated matter of factly and without prejudice in a previous post, dialogue and open discussion should be paramount on any forum and should not be discouraged nor frowned upon especially if a point of view does not coincide or is not agreeable to members and moderators alike. Open discussion is the central nervous system of all forums as long as it is done with civility & respect for one another’s ideas and opinions. Also, an infusion of new ideas, concepts and youth are the bloodline for any forum that aspires to continue forward and to grow within a said community. Once those objectives and concepts are deemed unnecessary by those that hold power in a said forum, it’s only a matter of time before it becomes a proverbial “Ghost town” social shave forum. Nevertheless, I will miss that forum as another avenue for shave comradery is closed.

I've had posts deleted there as well, but then again, this is me we're talking about. 

Something as simple as a like button would have helped, just that little bit of feedback from the members makes a lot of difference. Felt like you were posting on a dead forum that no one read. I had some good posts with Charlie there, but it just seemed empty.

chazt hasn't posted here in a while, you fellas run him off?

Never signed up there, myself. I heard some poor stories of the place, and with accounts on other boards already, I didn't feel the need.

I agree TobyC , the like button is a nice thing. All boards should really have it.

Not sure who chazt chazt is. I see he's been a member since 2015... I didn't start until 2018. He seems to have only 10 posts... So perhaps he stopped posting before I joined?
