TSE Rants Episode #1 - Hyperbolic Soap Descriptions

I'm a sittin here thinking that is this place any different from the other forums, really? C'mon man, TSE makes great videos and I know he's a good man. So what, he speaks his mind about somethin and what the heck is wrong with the we and I thing? It's just a a way of talkin to the people. Don't take yourself so seriously man, it aint healthy. And the whiskey thing, what in the the heck is wrong with that? Iff you want to make a video do you have to be in a white room with nothin else around you? What if you are outside and there be a tree in the background. Should that be put int eh nature forum? I think he jus sayin somethin you aint down with and you just venting.

The man has done a lot for wetshaving, what have you done? Relax and don't be powertrippin!!! Hooyeah!!!

This video lost me at about 4 minutes. Made me want to grab a glass of whiskey, though.

Hi, I have to agree with BigPoppa here. But I will say I agree with Chris, I like to read what is exactly in the tin & nothing more so I know what I am paying for, And not just on shave gear either.

If you are referring to Freddy, He has done plenty for the wetshaving community. Maybe he doesn't produce YouTube videos daily and then flood the forums with links and then vanish....but he has helped many members and done a lot for the wet shaving community. Whether you know about it or not, he has.

BigPoppa Believe me, I can tell a power trip when I see one. That wasn't a power trip, and I think you might be misunderstanding what Freddy was saying. From what I could tell, Freddy was offering his personal opinion, and not issuing a moderator decision. In that respect his opinion is equally as valid and worth hearing as any of ours, which also might explain why I was able to disagree with his opinion without getting banned or otherwise silenced. Incidentally, if this was another forum, I'd have been banned already for daring to disagree with a moderator lol. That we are able to disagree without retribution demonstrates a difference.

And I'm with primotenore - I nearly paused the video to grab a glass myself .

I'm sorry, but I don't think the man has done anything for wet shaving other than promoting the synthetic brushes to lame names such as 'Brush of the gods'

CHSeifert I understand why you don't like his style, which can come across as very controversial due to his sense of humor (which I actually enjoy and find to be hilarious), but I think his presence is a net boon to the community. I for one have learned a lot from his videos, and I always appreciate his honesty, however he chooses to express it. I don't always agree with him (in my opinion he is off on a few products and scent analyses, but that is my opinion and his opinion is equally valid), but more voices and styles of reviewing can only help our community.

Gentleman, I stand by what I stated (and definitely as a member, not a moderator).  However, I did not realize it would generate so much controversy.  As I stated, I happen to agree with Chris's basic premise just not the way it was presented.  I'm sorry if some of you read more into it than I intended.  Shall we move on?

Chris Bailey has officially replaced Douglas Symthe as the most controversial figure in wet shaving. I'm with Freddy lets move on. I think personally we have given too much time analyzing, defending or criticizing his videos, comments, and the like. I think sometimes we "feed the bear" so to speak by even discussing the merits of the videos and the comments and statements therein.

Yeah man we get it, you were banned from a forum, boohoo! Most of us here were. Time for you to get over it maybe so? Looks like you found your place like me. But since we can feel free to say our minds without fear of ban, I'll tell you now I don't like you. Not a personal attack, just expressing my feelings and honesty.

Don't know much about what Freddy has done for the community, that's why I asked. Lot's of PrimoDonnas in our tiny little shave world taking themselves so seriously over somethin we been doing for centuries. It's cool we can all get down with this as a hobby but power struggles and some that spend way to much time gettin all up in peoples business, that's when we got problems. I see a lot of people sayin one thing and doin another. Everyone jus needs to chill and do their own thing. Hooyeah!!!
