My wife and I like to have a 'snack' while we watch a  DVD movie in the evening. Tonight we watched the ending of season 6 of 'Shetland,' and I had what has become my favorite sweet accompaniment, a bowl of granola topped with vanilla ice cream and melted peanut butter. And once again, I said afterward, "Well, that was just too much - next time I won't eat so much." (I have also tried it with an additional sprinkling of chocolate chips, but that really was too much of a good thing - and the cold ice cream made the chocolate chips too hard.)

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with an entire set of sweet teeth instead of just a single sweet tooth.  I have been working hard to cut down but pictures like yours don't help. Confused

Made with love, bananas, pound cake, and caramel sauce! Oh, and whipped cream! Gotta keep our strength up when watching our favorite show!

Those banana slices are ordered like shields in a phalanx formation. Maybe a testudo. Looks very tasty.

Simply Sara Lee pound cake and a can of Redi-Whip whipped cream. Yes, my wife made a wall of banana to shield the cake! The star of the treat is the caramel sauce, Christopher Elbow gourmet chocolatier makes the best and we use it for special needs!

I've recently discovered the joy of pouring a bit of E.D. Smith "No Sugar Added" Syrup (maple flavoured) on some Maple Walnut ice cream. The E.D. Smith syrup has a fraction of the carbs in real maple syrup. (7 g carbs per 45 ml / 3 Tbsp syrup)

Soon I must make some more "Blueberry Grunt", a traditional dish, being dumplings steamed in a hot blueberry sauce (and I tweak it with a cup of raspberries).

Hmm. The lighting is less than flattering there.
It's good hot or cold, with or without whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, and it will keep a few days. My version uses Splenda sweetener.

Special needs!!  Big Grin  Do you have a priority access card so you can got to the front of the line?  Reminds me of a column on coffee by Dave Barry where he expressed frustration at having to be back in the line while dilettantes were ordering their exotic coffee recipes while he, with an actual medical need for coffee, straight up and black, had to wait.

Found it!
