Today's Restoration

F. W. Holler 6/8 half hollow. When I started trying to clean this razor up, the scales started to fall apart. The wedge literally disintegrated, so I ordered some acrylic from Maggard's and cut and shaped these new scales today.









I set a quick bevel previously, before my order from Maggard's arrived, but today I went back for a full progresssiom. JNS 1000, JNS Red Aoto, Shoubudani type 100 with Asano botan, tenjyou, and Mejiro nagura. Finished with clear water.

Very decent shave. The edge could be better, and I will work on it with a 10k then back through the nagura, which will hopefully get it where it needs to be. Honestly if this was as good as the edge got, I would be happy with it, but I'm pretty sure it can get better with a little more work...

Thanks, everyone! I have to say I am really happy with the way this one came out. The blade was in really nice shape and cleaned up beautifully, so I'm glad the scales came out as nice as they did.
