Interesting, for me it is exactly same, but in other direction. My best razors are all in titanium. Not only milder razors like Athena or La Faulx but even more efficient like WR2 1.55, 921-EH or MC Sailor are best performing for me in titanium. Nice feel on my skin, ideal weight, not so heavy as SS and not so light as aluminum.. I'm huge fan of titanium razors. Some of my favourites I bought first in SS to try, and if I liked it lot, sold and bought again in titanium. No regreds here for me.

For clarity, I don’t mean drag like when a blade tugs on whiskers but rather that the razor parts, safety bar and top cap -any that touches skin just does not slip as smoothly across my face as a stainless steel razor does. I suppose the silver lining is that SS razors are generally cheaper than titanium razors.

The drag comes for me with a polished head/bar, not titanium vs ss.  The unpolished razors seem to give me a smoother shave.  Crazy, right?

The ti osprey at least is pretty much the perfect weight with that little brass insert. With stainless razors I have to let up on the pressure a bit. With the ti osprey I can just buff away. Which is how I learned to shave so it feels natural. Even with ti razors I sometimes use less pressure but just buff really rapidly. This results in a shave where I barely feel the razor cutting. I'm not going dangerously fast but the back and forth motion and momentum helps me. Try shaving a bit faster with a light razor. As for drag and polished finishes I find the ti osprey at least to have none. However before I polished it there was quite a bit. Now other than weight the ti and ss polished ospreys feel equally slippy to me.

I have not noticed any difference with the Ti razors that I have tried. My current favorite razor that I use the most is Ti.
