There is a cosmetic difference, of course, if that is important.

I've got a polished SS BB SB, and have had a machined BB. If there is a perceptible difference in 'drag', I was never able to perceive it. Same with other DEs IME. Just a matter of aesthetics from my point of view. Polished is prettier.  Smile

I wouldn't characterize it as 'drag'. It is just a different feel. You notice it with the Black Oxide version. It fairly insignificant, but it's there compared to the Polished version. However, it doesn't affect or alter the shave with the Blackbird.
I've noticed this with razors that have a pronounced coating such as the Weber DLC, as well. However, with the Weber DLC, I found it to be smoother than the Polished version, for whatever reason.
Again, it isn't a major factor, but it is noticeable.

Does the titanium model blackbird make this razor any better? As in somewhat comfortable compared to the SS version?

The short answer is yes. The full detailed answer can be found over the last ten or so pages of this thread.

I was trying to wait for Shane to release an OC plate, along with a 101mm handle, but I succumbed, a few days ago, as I couldn't wait any longer. I guess I can only hope Shane will eventually release those two items to compliment the SB Ti, some time, in the future.  Smile

Good move ... like Yogi Berra said (google him) "Predictions is hard, especially the future."

I've been holding off on buying a Ti BB even though I want one. A combination of wanting the polished version, and asking myself if I really need another expensive razor when I already have so many ... including 2 blackbirds ....  Rolleyes

Yea, in your case I understand how having 2 blackbirds makes it easier to hold back. I also prefer polished razors, they are just more aesthetically pleasing and at this point, having no need for any razors, I can wait until the polished is released.
