Different but equally pleasant experiences and the results are always stellar.

Blackland Razors Shane who would have thought the hardware business had such good revenue recurrence? Smile

No kidding! It’s always surprised me how many repeat customers I have, especially back when we only had a couple products. Extremely grateful for those loyalists, without whom Blackland wouldn’t be remotely as viable or as fun as it is now.

I tried the Ti version tonight for the first time. Really close shave and I find it smoother than the stainless version, which I think can be a little harsh but very efficient. This seems like a friendlier option but still extremely efficient. As I was shaving, I was thinking this could become my go-to razor. I used a Voshkod and Grooming Dept’s Otium. Great combination. I really enjoyed the shave.

Am I the only one who finds this amusing? The real Ron Jeremy is facing quite a few charges for handling other’s equipment.  Big Grin

Glad to hear it! It's definitely become my go-to when I'm not using prototypes. Budget allowing, I think titanium is THE Blackbird to have.

II’m now 2 shaves in with the Ti blackbird. Never used a blackbird prior to this so cannot say the difference between it and it’s SS/Brass counterparts. I was expecting a pretty aggressive razor based on a lot of reviews ive read, but it did not feel aggressive at all. Granted that could be due to it being Ti. No way near as much blade feel as my CG lvl 3. Almost like an in the middle between the lvl 2 and 3.

After trying the carbon SS vs Ti, I quickly learned that Ti is the metal for me. This bird deepens that thought even more so. When I shave with a Ti razor I don’t seem to get any of the irritation during the shave that I do when using SS. I attribute it to its metal properties as well as its light weight, allowing me to be more precise with pressure.

First two shaves have been good. I was going to wait for the polished version but decided to jump on the machined since Shane isn’t sure when the polished will happen. This machined bird sort of reminded me of my old DLC Lupo though. It has a similar sound to it when shaving. Almost like a holo/gritty/stone like feel/sound. Not sure if this is due to the finish or what. My Ti carbon doesn’t really have this sound/feel though from memory. 3 passes each time resulting in some great BBS shaves. I’ll be pitting it up against some other razors next week to get a better feel for it.

Man oh man! I just used the titanium Blackbird for the first time and I am stunned at how smooth it is! Highly efficient but the blade feel has somehow been reduced by going to titanium. That thing is amazing! I am a long time Blackbird user from the first stainless steel SB that I got shortly after they were released. I actually had a machine shop round off my corners on my first baseplate to get rid of the sharp corners. Then I bought the OC and loved it and still have that one. I also still have the original 100mm handle in stainless and that is what I used with the titanium head today. Nothing against the stock handle but I really prefer longer handles on razors. Loaded it with a Personna Tungsten 74 vintage blade and I was absolutely stunned when I started my shave. Shane, you have done it again and I really appreciate the convo back and forth about this one. 3 pass BBS. Still not sure if I will keep the machined or get the polished when it’s available but DAMN! This thing is absolutely amazing and that is saying a lot considering what I have in my collection! If you are on the fence about this one.....trust me, it is outstanding!! I will post pics and my thoughts on IG under Gmhjr06 tomorrow.
