I've got a black oxide OC with both handles in the BST  Shy

If you have drag on the brain, just wait until polished. In my experience, this is a mental game as much as it as a physical one and if you're concerned about drag with the machined finish I think you're more likely to find it. I don't actually think there is any drag, but once that seed is planted it's hard to dislodge. You'll probably be happier with the polished finish as it will alleviate the concern altogether. Alternative option is to try the machined finish and return it if you don't love it to wait for the polished.

I saw that. I would be looking for the solid bar, though, and I know I won't like the long handle. I also put the machined version on my Christmas list.

Five days, five shaves with the BB Ti. I love this razor.

I had my first shave with the titanium Blackbird tonight. I also own the SS model, and it is one of my favorite razors of all time.

My friend Shavemd (who has owned it in every material made by Blackland Razors ) convinced me to buy it after he said the titanium offering was his favorite model.

I am generally a skeptic when it comes to the difference in two razors of the same head geometry but different material. I have heretofore regarded the difference in material as somewhat of a curiosity. And in fact, there are several razors where I prefer the heavier SS over the titanium.

To me, the Titanium Blackbird did feel distinct from the SS. More nimble. Easier to apply a lighter touch, especially against the grain. Perhaps even somewhat smoother. I could still feel the blade, but the Blackbird’s characteristic blade feel was somehow gentler than with the SS model.

Is it worth owning both? For me, because I hold the Blackbird in such high regard, the answer is, yes.

ALI, well, you've made my decision easier, now. I guess I just need to get the Ti and try it, for myself. Smile
Enjoy the razor.

Another fine member here just sold me his Black Oxide 85mm Blackbird. He had both the Black Oxide and the Stainless and didn't feel like he needed both. Merry Christmas to me!

I am thinking about the Ti version, but the black oxide is really like the original Blackbird colour. Too bad they won’t make a black titanium version

You could always get the Ti version coated in black Cerakote.  Smile
