I have my father's 1951 Gillette Aristocrat.  I'm having the razor repaired and replated (gold) but the case it came in is in pretty bad shape.  I'm wondering if any of the members have any experience or knowledge about relining these old cases?  Its the leather looking box with red velvet bottom lining and red satin top lining.  The velvet is in bad shape and isn't salvageable.  If you've ever done this before or know anything about it, please let me know.

I believe a gentleman here, by the name of Morman Bridge has restored a few cases.

Hi Kevin, no I didn't. I tried to track down Morman Bridge but my ineptness with the technical act of finding a name prevented my success. I have two razors (Aristocrat and Fatboy) out for service and replating with Chris at Razorplate - they're actually in the hands of a person that Chris works with named Cap in Idaho (I think) for the end cap repair and general mechanical revamp work that Chris doesn't do. I'm pretty excited to see what eventually comes back to me. Thanks for the contact information - both Chris and Cap seem like really decent guys
