New orient my wife got me for Christmas it is my first Orient. I must say I'm blown away by the quality of this time piece for the cost. I will be ordering other Orient models without question! For 285.00 you'd be hard pressed to find better watches in the 1,000 range. I looked at some of my other watches that were 3 and 6 times the money and I feel duped by them because they don't look or feel of better quality that this orient does. Truly impressed by this piece.

It didn't take me long to add my second orient to my collection. Very old news to many; new to me. The mako "diver" from Orient is as great as my Christmas gift Orient Surveyor was in terms of cost and quality. There is a real chance I may have five more of their offerings before 16 is done. Incredible quality and value. It says something when I look at these Orients and then look at the Omega my parents got me when I graduated grad school and think yes, I can tell the difference in price and quality but it's not a 3,000 in quality and performance difference. To me, this is one of many examples where a name commands a large portion of the price. I should also note that my Omega is my most prized material possession because for my father who was a teacher and for my mother also a teacher, to spend that kind of money on a watch for me, after getting my masters, resonates more to me in terms of the gesture more than the object. That gift was SO unlike my father.

Prior to the the last year, the only watch I owned was my Omega so by no means am I an expert, but I've purchased six in the last few months of various manufacturers and I'm truly impressed with Orient.... It's amazing what you get for your dollar.

I love my Orient Mako with the Pepsi bezel. It's really sort of a banger for me to wear at work and when I'm out and about. I just got a new Seiko and the bracelet is already getting some small scratched from daily wear.

That's a good looking diver...... I've got a Sieko 5 coming in the mail Monday.... Another solid watch made by a company that makes a good looking reliable time piece.
