I did a search on Timeless for the comparison thread and didn't find it. It's something I'd like to see as well. If you know where I might find it please let me know.
Also if anyone can compare both Timeless plates to the ATT offerings in terms of aggressiveness that would help as well.
There are a number of comparisons in this thread, including some thoughts I shared at a high level compared to the ATT plates. If you have any specific questions, let me know and happy to help.
Kevin,
Thank you, I'm trying to get a feel for where this razor would rank in terms of the others that I own and which blade gap I'd prefer in comparison. Currently I own:
ATT SE1 - I'm really liking this razor as I enjoy using the Feather Pro style blades due to their efficiency. I get nice comfortable shaves from this razor every time though it is what I'd consider slightly aggressive.
King Cobra - I like this one almost as much as the ATT SE1. For the same reasons. It loses the battle to the SE1 due to me being able to swap out handles to get a more refined feel. It's another razor I'm very fond of though.
Mongoose 2nd Batch - This is a decent razor but I find myself having to do too much touch up considering the efficiency of the Feather Pro style blades it uses. I've used the Super blades in it as well and it's not one that's sticking for me. It may hit the BST at some point or get traded.
LA Shaving BBS-1 - I really enjoy this razor as it's my favorite de razor. Very smooth and gives me a perfect shave every time. I prefer it to the Wolfman as it's smoother and almost as efficient.
Wolfman WR-1 OC standard gap - Another excellent razor that I enjoy using. No complaints here though I suspect I'd prefer the SB version. If I ever get on the list I'll be ordering a SB razor from them.
ATT - H1 - I used this razor for about a year as a daily shaver. It's a bit harsh and I find myself preferring a smoother shaver but it gives me really close shaves. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.
ATT R1 - Almost as aggressive as the H1 but slightly less. I'm preferring the shaves from the BBS-1 and the Wolfman over it as well. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.
ATT M1 - Much more milder and doesn't give me as close of a shave as the BBS-1. Another nice razor but I prefer others.
ATT H2 - See H1 but a bit smoother shave while introducing a slight scratchy feeling from the plate machining. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.
ATT R2 - Same as the H2 but a bit less aggressive. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.
I have some vintage razors as well (Fatboy, Slim, Flare Tip, New LC) that see occasional use but I find myself choosing from the SE1, BBS-1 or Wolfman most days.
I also don't know if I prefer a larger of smaller blade gap as I used to shave with aggressive razors over a more comfortable shave but now I'm looking for a little more comfortable shave while still getting a long lasting perfect shave without having to fight for it with too mild of a razor. I tend to prefer SB over OC razors. I find myself reaching for razors that I find to be smooth and yet still very efficient.
