Does anyone either A) have both of these or B) have a Timeless Razor?

Can anyone share insights into the Timeless Razor? Quality resemble that of Wolfman? Above the Tie?

Medium aggressive blade gap lean more towards aggressive or mild?

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a Timeless and any insights would be appreciated.

Someone wrote a very good review of the Timeless and compared it to the WM and others. Check in the razors section.

I have both steeleshaves and shared thoughts in another thread but to recap:

I like both a great deal. I have the .95 gap Timeless and find that it shaves like a much milder razor. Very, very efficient and a better facefeel to me than the corresponding OC Wolfman.

Each high quality, the finish work is edged by the Wolfman narrowly.

Quality of shave is again edged by Timeless.

Of course there's also the availability with Timeless taking the significant lead here.

I am using my Wolfman OC this week but the Timeless is on deck. First time I can recall actually really looking forward with anticipation to loading a blade with a given razor if that's any indication.

steeleshaves I have the Timeless OC with 0.95 blade gap, a Wolfman OC with the standard blade gap and Wolfman OC with the blade gap increased of 0.74. In terms of fit and finish the Timeless is very very close to the Wolfman. Most obvious difference is the underside of the top cap being polished on the Wolfman and not on the Timeless. The Timeless locks down the blade very tightly just like the Wolfman. Both the Wolfman and Timeless fit and finish are better than Above the Tie. I find the standard gap Wolfman to be the smoothest of the 3 narrowly. I prefer the shave of the Timesless OC to the increased blade gap Wolfman. Given the availability issue, the overall lead would go to the Timeless were I picking today.

I did a search on Timeless for the comparison thread and didn't find it. It's something I'd like to see as well. If you know where I might find it please let me know.

Also if anyone can compare both Timeless plates to the ATT offerings in terms of aggressiveness that would help as well.

I believe I also shared my opinion about both on another thread, but I can't remember where so I can do a condensed version. Both razors are excellent, but workmanship wise, the Wolfman is almost personal. It's the difference between a Rolls Royce and an Audi or BMW. Both are expensive, beautiful and perform most excellently but one is more custom than the other. Shave wise, I can get an easy BBS from both. If you love heavy well balance razors, the Timeless will fit the Bill. if you have issues with Heavy, you may want to consider a lighter stainless steel razor, like the wolfman. My wolfman and Timeless are stock razors, no gap modifications, I got the showroom models. Really you can't go wrong with either, but the Timeless you can get right now with little to no fanfare.

I realize there was a question related to the ATT. Beautiful stainless steel razors that I just never got the hang of. It's strange, there are just some razors that you love, but they don't love you back. Back when I was shaving with straights I had a beautiful 6/8 Dovo Bizmark that I absolutely loved, but I always had terrible luck with it, like it was possessed. Then after awhile, I had anxiety using it, anticipating cuts and sure enough it happened. No rhyme or reason, it was just a bad marriage. I eventually sold it and the " negative Chi" attached to it was gone. That's how I define my relationship with ATT. I bought 4 and all 4 are sold, just did not work for me. I even did a 30 day shave challenge with it and we never really saw eye to eye. I'm probably in the minority regarding ATT, but to be fair, they are excellent razors, but not The same as Wolfman and Timeless.

I currently own both. Wolfman SB (standard gap), and Timeless scalloped head in the 'mild' .68 gap.
The quality of the machining of the Wolfman is perfect. Totally incomparable to any other razor and the gold-standard.
The machining of the Timeless is very VERY good but not on the same level as the Wolfman.

The shave between the two I find indistinguishable. Both are top notch but I think the scalloped head of the Timeless allows more residual lather to be left behind which makes repeated buffing strokes more comfortable.

At one point I also owned a increased gap (.74?) Wolfman OC and a Timeless .95 OC. The Wolfman OC was just a little too aggressive for my liking. The Timeless OC (.95) on the other hand was WAY too aggressive for me, to the point where I spent the entire shave concentrating on the blade angle which wasn't fun at all. (I sold them both).

Plus, the Timeless razors are in stock and easy to order. Wink

Kevin,

Thank you, I'm trying to get a feel for where this razor would rank in terms of the others that I own and which blade gap I'd prefer in comparison. Currently I own:

ATT SE1 - I'm really liking this razor as I enjoy using the Feather Pro style blades due to their efficiency. I get nice comfortable shaves from this razor every time though it is what I'd consider slightly aggressive.

King Cobra - I like this one almost as much as the ATT SE1. For the same reasons. It loses the battle to the SE1 due to me being able to swap out handles to get a more refined feel. It's another razor I'm very fond of though.

Mongoose 2nd Batch - This is a decent razor but I find myself having to do too much touch up considering the efficiency of the Feather Pro style blades it uses. I've used the Super blades in it as well and it's not one that's sticking for me. It may hit the BST at some point or get traded.

LA Shaving BBS-1 - I really enjoy this razor as it's my favorite de razor. Very smooth and gives me a perfect shave every time. I prefer it to the Wolfman as it's smoother and almost as efficient.

Wolfman WR-1 OC standard gap - Another excellent razor that I enjoy using. No complaints here though I suspect I'd prefer the SB version. If I ever get on the list I'll be ordering a SB razor from them.

ATT - H1 - I used this razor for about a year as a daily shaver. It's a bit harsh and I find myself preferring a smoother shaver but it gives me really close shaves. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.

ATT R1 - Almost as aggressive as the H1 but slightly less. I'm preferring the shaves from the BBS-1 and the Wolfman over it as well. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.

ATT M1 - Much more milder and doesn't give me as close of a shave as the BBS-1. Another nice razor but I prefer others.

ATT H2 - See H1 but a bit smoother shave while introducing a slight scratchy feeling from the plate machining. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.

ATT R2 - Same as the H2 but a bit less aggressive. It's put aside in a drawer at the moment.

I have some vintage razors as well (Fatboy, Slim, Flare Tip, New LC) that see occasional use but I find myself choosing from the SE1, BBS-1 or Wolfman most days.

I also don't know if I prefer a larger of smaller blade gap as I used to shave with aggressive razors over a more comfortable shave but now I'm looking for a little more comfortable shave while still getting a long lasting perfect shave without having to fight for it with too mild of a razor. I tend to prefer SB over OC razors. I find myself reaching for razors that I find to be smooth and yet still very efficient.
