This had me laughing.

As some of you know, I love fountain pens and inks.  I got this e-mail from The Goulet Pen Co. just now and was surprised to see the Proraso shaving stuff mixed in with a modern Esterbrook fountain pen.  Then I clicked on “this commercial” and watched the corny ad for the pen and travel kit.  It was a fun way to start my day.

I started out repairing Esterbrook fountain pens many, many years ago. Great colors and very rugged and simple to fix. Never figured they would become collectable, more of a "student or business" pen.

Those were easy to do basic repairs on and they wrote beautifully. I loved the interchangeable nibs and still have several Dollar and J-Series pens.

150 for a pen is _still_ a starter pen IMO.

low production + modern costs. sucks but there you go. Pelikan is out here charging 500+ for M800s (my preferred daily pen due to their ruggedness and ink capacity).

I love fountain pens and have since finding out that the "handwriting problems" I had for the first 20 years of my life were due to using ballpoints that were often too thin for me to grip effectively but also difficult for me to control due to how much force they required to write.
