14 shaves and it still seems sharp.  Offered a great shave this morning.

16th shave and I'm calling it done. Partly out of boredom and partly out of a slight loss of performance. It's still sharp and I don't feel tugging but I'm not getting as close as when it was new. No need to see how far I can take them any longer and at pennies per each, I see little economy trying to stretch them. Suffice it to say that the new etched Personna comfort coated is a fine blade with excellent longevity.

I recently acquired some of these laser etched lab blues from the same eBay seller and they are quite a step up from the prior lab blues I have tried. I cannot speak to longevity quite yet as I am still needing more time with them. But, so far, excellent results!

Well I moved on to something else out of boredom but left the DE89 loaded with the old Personna lab blue etched. Just for fun a did a couple more shaves with it. 17 and 18 booked and it's still shaving great.

I'm glad you;re having success with them. I get razor burn on my neck every time with lab blues. Doesn't matter what razor or cream combination I use - Mamba, 34C, red tip, etc.

I started this thread clear back in October 2019.  I’d purchased some Personna Lab Blue in bulk from an eBay vendor and was struck by the difference in appearance of the two blades.  Lab blue and Comfort Coated are reported to be the same blade but I found the bulks I bought to outlast the comfort coated I had on hand.  Well, my bride also likes personna so we needed more blades and I purchased a couple hundred in just the regular, run of the mill, blue box we all know.  When I was changing blades in her Leaf yesterday I noticed that the pretty lab blue with etched printing that was unavailable after my initial purchase was now staring me right in the face.  The original comfort coated blade that had printing that looked like a kindergartener with a sharpie had done it has been supplanted by the very sharp etched letters.  What have you all found? These USA made blades are my favorite and I was wondering if you gents had found the new etching in packaging you bought.  Haven’t compared the blade with the bulk lab blues yet but my hope is they are sharp and smooth and long lived like those are.

A recent box of 250 med preps I received from the Razor Blade Co (may 22 date codes) is also laser etched, and I can confirm that these are also excellent. I do prefer laser etched to kindergarten sharpie, but I can't confirm that one is better than the other since I ran out of the older sharpie variety and can't do a side-by-side. I don't really need to though as I'm on my 8th shave with one blade and it's still performing like a champ. (The angle in the photo makes the printing look a lot darker than it does in person - in real life it looks like the photo Lipripper660 posted.)

Thanks for the report!  With this topsy turvy world it’s comforting to know the blade is still being made in the USA.  I’ll report that the Comfort Coated etched is better than the old style which was excellent in its own right.  The etched don’t seem sharper, just longer lived.
