Already reached out to Shane begging to have a custom Ti Lite plate made at my expense. He refused to do so but suggested he may develop a Ti Lite plate later this year - if that betrays a confidence, apologise. 100% in the moment it comes available.
Blackland Razors demand is there Shane, will it be released in spring or summer??
The Vector Lite is selling well enough so it's really about finding some space in our production schedule. We're working to get this in without jeopardizing current plans (Osprey Ti, new Sabre, regular production, etc). It's more or less a zero-sum game so we have to choose where to spend those production and engineering hours. I'm sure we'll find some time to get this done, but I don't know when just yet.

I just purchased one on the DFS BST forum and very much looking to get back into it. I think it really is one of the best razors of all time - nimble as heck and really close shaves. I used to use the Schick blades but found that with those it was difficult to make a daily shaver out of the Vector - midway through the week the shaves would feel a little TOO close. This time I've ordered some sample AC blades to trying things out a little more, including the Kai mild and Feather Light. I might try for a Lite plate as well.
Lights fit but need to have the slots extended laterally with a rat tail micro file in an Al vise. But if you have sensitive skin with the standard plate, go Feather Soft Guard. Let me know if you want one to try. Get 30Hr BBS with zero irritation
Thanks for the offer, but no need. I've got on the way one of every type of AC blade that Blade Club offers, including the Soft Guard.
AC blades really are like Model Ts. You can have any type you want, as long as its Feather (and to a lesser extent Kai). Too bad Gillette never got into this product line.
Had my first shave with my newly acquired Vector with a Feather Pro Guard and god smack it that's a good shave. One of those, "I seriously need to stop swiping my hand over my face to feel the smoothness" shaves.
I really wanted to buy some Prolines, but given the current sale at Maggards I picked up a cartridge of Feather Pro's and another of Soft Guard. Just over $30 for 35 blades, two weeks a blade, that's more than a year shaving right there. Gotta love it.

Got some surprisese in my Maggards box.
1) Instead of a box of SoftGuards, they put in a box of regular old Pro's. I have a Pro in a sample selection from Blade Club that I hadn't tried yet - I'll put that in the Vector tomorrow and see whether I should keep the unopened box from Maggards or ask for an exchange.
2) The box of 100 Personna Blue DE blades that I ordered for my Blackbird is advertised as actually having 120 blades. It's like Christmas in Feburary!

I also have a Mr SE V2 and use SPL and Kia Pink wiout issue. Or do I need to play it safe and get the LIte plate? Orr play smart and get both.
If you like the Blackbird you'll have zero problems with the regular Vector from my experience.

Congratulations, you bought the single best razor of any type ever used in my experience With Dave, but be aware the delta in AC blades is huge unlike DE. Try a variety

I would start with what you have, and then check out the Razor Blade Club if you want to look for something better. You can buy singles or dups of a few brands from RBC, and build your own sampler that way.(03-10-2024, 01:15 AM)Sevenbark Wrote: I am getting ready to purchase a Vector.
