All,
I wanted to thank everyone for the information and links on this thread. I purchased a GEM Clog Proof about a month ago and recently purchased a Schick Injector. I had fully intended to get more comfortable with DE shaving before trying SE since I've only been wet shaving for three months. But this thread made me more and more anxious to try SE.
This morning was my first shave with an SE. Wow….smooth, but definitely paid for it. As a matter of fact, today was the first day I saw blood in the sink. I know that was the result of poor technique as I’m sure I put too much pressure on during the XTG and ATG pass. Once I was done, I hesitated to use the alum block but I had to know…sure enough, most irritation I’ve ever experienced.
Having said all that…I can’t wait to shave with the injector tomorrow. That’s because today was the first day I didn’t struggle getting my chin smooth. Hoping over the course of the next couple weeks I can learn more from everyone here. Hopefully, I learn enough that the alum block can be used sparingly

SE razors are not nearly as forgiving as a DR razor. While light pressure is recommended for both, it is even more crucial for an SE, even for ones considered to be more "mild". Same goes for the injectors. Since both these styles of razors use more rigid blades they tend to bite more. Just be careful, take your time and enjoy the ride. Soon enough you will use the SE and Injector more than any other razor.
You may want to skip any ATG passes until you refine your technique.
On a side note, which injector did you get?

Thanks for posting and participating in our thread here.
That's great advice on skipping the ATG. Tomorrow I'm going to use the SE for the WTG and XTG passes and then switch back to my DE for ATG.
I've never posted a picture but i'll give it a try now:
Got it from Razor Emporium. They indicated it was a Gold & Cream from the 50's but didn't include the type.
