whiteboy_cannon ShadowsDad Great advice, thank you!
And I don't know why I was so tentative.
My better half shocked me today with a gift of a Mongoose Batch 3. She saw me searching around for one awhile ago and wanted to surprise me, so got one and gave it to me for the 4th of July. I'm still floored.
Anyway, I decided to shave with it this morning, put in a Feather AC Pro, and went carefully, as I suppose is good sense with any razor.
Found the angle with no issues-put the head flat against the face, increased the angle a bit, as
ShadowsDad mentioned, and as I would with the first time with a DE razor, and was pleasantly surprised.
Halfway through the first pass, I felt a bit of drag, decided to hydrate the lather a bit more (Seville), and that did the trick. So, I hear you,
whiteboy_cannon , thank you.
I intended only to do one pass, but it was so comfortable, I did an across the grain. Still very comfortable. I did some touch up, some diagonally against the grain and rinsed my face to find a BBS.
Alum test passed with flying colors-almost no burn at all. Zero irritation, no nicks, etc. Superb shave.
SWMBO (which after this shocking gift might be changed to She Who Must Be Worshipped) thought the shave was great, and was so proud that she got me something that I am so excited about.
Very early for comparisons, but it did take a bit more attention than the OneBlade which is a no-brainer shaving tool (good news, bad news), but overall my confidence for using Single Edge razors has gone way up this morning.
Thanks to you all again!
P.S. Here's the setup for this morning's shave: Seville, Mongoose, Feather AC Pro, Simpons Chubby 3 Super
