what you received looks like 2019.

Thanks for the precious opinion!

I thought the box was not original. I am wondering if the box of 2019 version was blue or not.

The razor in the photo looks like a 2020, based on how polished the top cap is. See, in particular, the sharpness of the reflection in the top cap. The photos you posted of the razor you actually received indicate that it is a 2019 razor. The finish on the top of the top cap is the “brushed” finish that is characteristic of the 2019 razors. Also, on the razor you received, the outer edge of the blade support, on the upper surface of the base plate, has the more “rounded” profile; that also indicates the razor you received is a 2019 razor. How much did you pay?

The 2019 Diamondback release was much talked about at the time of the release. Some people were critical of the finish level of the 2019 models. The 2020 razors display a much higher level of polishing, and it is quite apparent on the top of the top cap, and on the upper surface of the baseplate. The 2020 models appear to be considered more desirable. [I believe it’s mostly cosmetic because, in my experience, the shave that I get from the 2019 razors feels the same as the shave that I get from the 2020 razors]. There’s not yet enough data on secondary sales to figure out whether a market value delta is developing between the 2019 and the 2020 razors. However, recent postings from Paradigm indicate that the designer, Andy, is turning to a new razor project. (He has been consistently focused on improvement in each of his designs. He has had limited releases and then he moves on to designing a different, newer, and improved razor. He is an artist/designer primarily, rather than a businessman). So, it now appears that Paradigm will not be releasing any more “Diamondback” razors in the foreseeable future. In very recent secondary sales listings, some sellers have asked for more for the 2020 version. This may be in response to the now apparently finite supply of Diamondback razors. So far, the 2019 razors are generally being offered without significant markup.

They are definitely two different Razors.

And 2020 box is black.
