Just wonderingThat button is for disassembly. After learning how it is taken down, no it's not user serviceable. I'll never take mine apart unless it's broken. Just have to employ some aggressive care techniques.
Yesterday, I put the Sailor set on 10 up against 4 days growth. I decided to do a 1 pass shave for fun. It turned into what I'll call a 1.5 pass. 20 hours later I'm just getting regrowth.
It was actually quite smooth in the process. My technique with this massive creature is getting better and so are the shaves.

What a shave today with the Sailor dialed up to 8. This thing gets smoother and smoother the more I use it. I have completely dialed in my technique and my go to blades are the Personna Tungsten74 and the Gillette Platinum. Just outstanding today!!

Nice photo, looks like a great shave. I have not had a he pleasure of using a sailor yet but hope to at some point. That looks like a some making required brush. How do you like it and what knot is in it?
Happy shaves

Love my brush handles from SMR. I have 4-5 that he has done for me. Phillip is awesome and a great guy to deal with. The knot in it is an A.P. Shaves 26mm SHD Gelousy knot which is also known as an Oumo SHD Hook knot. I am now 18 hours stubble free which is insane!! Love this Sailor!

Thanks for the response. I am thinking about getting a SMR brush, they look pretty awesome. I have two apshaveco gelousy knots and they are some of my favorites. Wow 18 hours is a long lasting shave.

Well...it finally happened. I had it set on 8...got careless laying blade to skin/jawline and got a nice 1/2" slice. It wasn't deep but it bled enough to need a styptic pen...first time in many months. The Sailor reminded me not to get too cocky with it in the upper gap range. I do love a challenge from time to time and thought I was ready. Post 1 for the Sailor.

That is my greatest fear with that razor and I’m glad it happened to you first my man!!
Even though I think I have mastered my technique with it, when something like that happens to a true master shaver like you, I know I still need to be aware with that beast!!
