Scentsless Shaver
Oakland, ME
Thanks for the good info, Dave in KY. Live and let live on the spring. Mine is working well for me, and the enemy of good is perfect! (I read that on the internet, too!)

An excellent shave this evening with the Heritage Gibbs Replica. Hadn’t used it in some time and went back to it with a twice used Bic Chrome Platinum. Super smooth and delightfully efficient in a 2.5 pass shave. I won’t go into details about every facet of the shave. I will solely say that the razor shaved exceptionally well with minimal effort on my part. It’s a wonderful little shaver that allows great maneuverability at every stage of the shave process. It’s nearly identical to the famed Legend it was designed after if not better.

Get your hands on one gents (whenever they become available again). It really is worth it as one can experience what the iconic Gibbs brought to the table over half a century back without having to scour the auction sites and more importantly getting raked over hot coals in spending the cash to acquire one. The Gibbs was ahead of its time and the Heritage allows a shaver to experience that identical performance of the original for a much lesser price of entry.

Totally worth it. And no modifying blades neither. Win, win. Great shaves to all…

Went for a second straight day shaving with the Heritage Gibbs. Again, just another great shave and not a single negative to speak of about this little razors performance. Just drop in your favorite blade and whip up your favorite lather. Easy, smooth & efficient feeling shaves is all I’ve experienced in practically every shave. If the all brass version comes to fruition (just rumors for now), I’m all in. I don’t care where it’s made, the folks or gent at Heritage did their homework and went through hoops to bring this replica of a classic razor to fruition. And at a very reasonable price when one considers today’s economic picture. Home run for Heritage and I have no issues in backing any future project or endeavors they plan to bring in the shave landscape for hard goods.

It’s a keeper. Just in case I failed to mention it….  Winking

A bit late to the party but here's my report.
Had a three day growth waiting for the Heritage Gibbs.
Mine was the all-silver version with the standard sized handle.

Razor arrived with the red dot on #6 which is also #0.
Spinning dial clockwise takes one revolution,
past #6 again...and stops at #1...so basically 7 settings.

While I was spinning the ring I felt relatively little resistance,
and I thought it would be good to have a little more
rigidity in the movement.

Fished out a spare Taiga spring which I had custom made
in 316 SS...and whaddaya know....fits perfect, and now I like the
turning mechanism...with just the right amount of torque, it's perfect for me.

Started my shave on N and tried a few settings...even 7 was fairly smooth
with just a little blade feel...I have to say I enjoyed WTG on the higher settings
...and the north-south route on my neck while deploying lower settings (1 and 2).

Fit and finish are good...but if I could choose again I would pick the longer handle.
All in all, this razor impressed me for a $65 job. Yes the Taiga and Sailor MC exhibit more
finesse...but given their price, they had better. I had been looking for a superb
and very competent travel razor...and with the Heritage Gibbs, I believe I have found it.

Fantastic shave with this underdog that could. A wonderful 2 pass shave that left no doubt on what finish it left on my skin both face and neck. A face rubbing and shit eating grin of a BBS finish, plain and simple. I will not tell you you that this is a MUST have razor or it is an essential piece of hardware that should be in every man’s shave collection (or woman if we’re playing even stevens) but, if a shaver has ever wanted to get the famed but, very hard to find in excellent condition Legendary Gibbs, this little razor can get you close enough if not identical to that aforementioned juggernaut that is the Le Reglable Gibbs. The Heritage gives one a really, really excellent shave.

Good Friday, many blessings to all and a safe Passover to my Jewish shave bro-hams.

Great shaves to all….

I get some great shaves without even going beyond the N mark.
'2' is my sweet spot for a daily shave.
My only regret is not getting the one with the larger handle.

No news on the potential release of an all Brass or Stainless version of the Gibbs Replica by Heritage Collection Shaving but, I still have the Brass/Zamak version that still shaves beautifully and gives a very good accounting on the original. Used the same Schick blade from the previous days shave and it was as smooth & comfortable a shave that I’ve given myself with the Gibbs Heritage replica. The Ethos soap gave an excellent base of protection & glide for the Heritage Gibbs that was easy sailing from start to finish. The scent of the Ethos set is just as good with a classic Vetiver vibe with citrus undertones to give it a classical yet modern feel. The Schick blade has been better than advertised and has proven to be a top tier performer in the razors that I’ve used them in so far.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing soon enough the Brass or Stainless offerings from Heritage that I’m sure will give at least equal performance to this version with an upgrade in alloy and potential longevity. Fingers crossed.

Great shaves to all….
