Sorry, I posted that and scanned the website and I can't actually find an answer to your questions.

First shave was actually quite nice with a fresh Bic Chrome Platinum. Shaved with it on 6 then 4 as the N is 3 but, is the lowest setting on the razor. At least on my sample. The movement is very nice and smooth throughout its whole range and it opens up to a pretty nice gap coming round to the 4 (technically a 7, maybe 8?) setting at almost a full turn and a slight bit extra. A nice 2.5 pass shave that was quite good. Greenfresh brought the suds for extreme comfort & glide. Not bad, not bad at all on its first shave. More to come….
Great first outing and impressions Gus. I had a similar enjoyable first outing shave just now. Smooth and appears efficient on setting 4 with 3 passes. I too though had nothing below 3.5 as it didn't quite get to the N (3) setting so in my mind they were early to this like the Yaqi that took several attempts to straighten it out before "The Final Cut" Razor. I wish people would have it right BEFORE selling them.......Video uploading now and will post when it does.

That kind of sucks. I had a feeling that this razor was either going to be hit or miss in terms of quality & functionality. Somewhere along the lines of the TFC by Yaqi as you mentioned. I think with all the setbacks and obstacles that Heritage went through to bring this razor to the public in a limited quantity, proceeding on the side of caution should have been priority with an emphasis on getting every piece made assembled and working properly. A lot rides on this small release on their behalf. Hopefully it was only a couple that got overlooked in their haste to get these models into shavers hands as quickly as possible. Sorry buddy that you got the shaft on this one. Hopefully Heritage can make it right for you.
I really do want this razor to be a positive for Heritage and for the end user as well. Fingers crossed that it was an anomaly and not a potential norm going forward. It can make this outing a one and done affair. Even though Yaqi kind of made it right, it took them a while (3 runs I believe) and I still think they've never recovered fully because of the issues in the first two runs.
We'll see...

I've been in communication with Neil and he said that they should all go from N to N but it adjusts and works fine. Just the what he called quirkiness about the dial. He said he personally tested everyone before it went out and they were all the same. If defective he will make good on them but I don't guess he considers it defective. He's going to be sending me a video of someone that found a way to get theirs to go from one through six which to me would be one that works properly. After all when you get a car from the manufacturer they don't have you do math to figure out what gear you're supposed to be in to be the correct gear versus what the indicator says....... I guess we'll see how this plays out when I see the video....

You might wanna recheck, by removing dial and put it back opposite direction.
Yep, I'm familiar with how it disassembles and goes together and the only variable would be the dial being upside down but it didn't matter which way it was you would still only have partial adjustability. As I stated above it's a known problem that Neil was already aware of.

You are unlucky. My aluminum one is quite fine.
Starts from N (#3) and going to #4 after one turn (like #7). Dial is smooth.
When I release the handle, I can turn from N (#3) to #6 after 2 turn (like #15).
I hope he is still keeping extra ones for replacement. I haven't shaved it yet, but quality is super high to me.
