I considered it but not real trusting of the plastic lasting and figured the anodized black aluminum was a good compromise.

I ended up ordering the anodized black alum for the same reason.  The main reason I considered the original design was I like the 3-piece design better than the 2-piece
I agree. Since I have an original Gibbs I have that covered. This will be more like the Yaqi Final Cut I guess. Congrats!

My daily driver is a Timeless Ti 95.  Very smooth for me. It’s lighter than a stainless razor so I have to be careful to avoid pressure when using a heavier razor

I sold my ambassador, it wasn't that enjoyable to me.
I kept a Gibbs because I always enjoy the shave, just have to alter the blade.
Your cash your choice, but it's a nice price, like CK89 pointed out.

I ordered the XL chrome over brass, on a whim. Ive never been interested in tge original, at all, for a lot of silly reasons. However, the longer handle, Chrome finish, no blade mods, and $64.05 price tag intrigued me for some reason.

Thanks for the heads up, Gus.

Aw man, you guys are killing me.  I've been anxiously awaiting this pre-order!  Big Grin

I'm debating on ordering the 2 piece annodized aluminum handled one.  For you guys who tried the prototype out, does anyone know if the 2-piece or 3-piece shave differently?

Also, I saw a comment from dave in KY regarding it possibly shaving similar to the Yaqi Final Cut... I just received my all BRASS Yaqi Final Cut <which is truly awesome BTW! - I highly recommend it>.  I don't want there to be significant repetition in the shave den, but for $50'ish buckaroos, its not that big of a deal right?

Thoughts??  Thanks!  Party

I asked and was told that the TopCap is zamak.

He was vague on the rest so I'll speculate that the middle plate and adjuster (bottom) plate will also be zamak. That makes the most sense.

The handle will be the choice of Brass, Aluminium or Plastic. There seems to be two adjuster dials, anyones guess here.

AQU - This is going to have to be one hellva razor to knock the zamak TFC off its perch as the best value for money adjustable.

EDIT: I ordered the Black Aluminium handle.

Ordered the Black Aluminum. If it shaves as well as the original then it’s a winner for me.

I was just guessing it will shave similar as they scalped his design early on but no one knows until they get one. As you said it's only $50....

Agreed wholeheartedly. The TFC Brass & Zamak razor is the Cinderella story of 2022. For the $$$ it's an incredible value and a razor that can hang with anything in the industry. It took Yaqi a few runs and a bumpy ride to get it to finally work but, it's a heck of a razor.

If there ever was an overachiever category in the razor world, it would be the TFC Adjustable hands down. So, if the Heritage Gibbs Replica can give a shave as good as the TFC then (yes you are correct it's a tall order) that presents a nice problem to have with two razors modelled after a razor that's considered to be an all time great. And both for an extremely good price.
