It has been awhile since I've owned a Gibbs but if I am correct and someone can verify this the adjuster knob is only a nut with a female thread and doesn't have male threads on either end of it. If that is the case the razor will never be accurate or a faithful reproduction of a Gibbs adjuster unless the threads are redone to match the original. Simple fix like I've said before but crucial design detail since it is a reproduction.

Correct - and that means if the thread pitches differ the adjustment gap for the same amount of turn will also differ.

Exactly. And in this case a major flaw since it is a reproduction not a Gibbs like razor like the Rex Ambassador.

To be fair Neil is quite clear this is an homage to the Gibbs and not an effort at a clone. It's a fail only if you have expectations otherwise. People who want a Gibbs should get a Gibbs, there are plenty out there.

Given what Neil wants to achieve, "an affordable adjustable based on the Gibbs", I would say that he's doing a great job. He's been upfront about matters and even the prototype pricing...refreshingly honest in today's shaving forums.

Agree 100 percent. He's also open to changes that are achievable within the budget, that's why it's a beta.

Looking at pictures, its looking good - there is only one issue to fix and that's the handle. The rest seems fine.
Yes - I would have liked to have snagged one of the 25 (or even better a pre-prototype)

Hmmm

I'm sad that clouds handle won't fit as I have one for my Gibbs.

I may get one of these as a "back up" to my Gibbs in case of damage if the shaves are similar.
Will ultimately depend on the pricing.
