Desmond's Barrow closed up shop several years ago and I was able to pickup a Patchouli Spritz right before the closure.  I've used this soap sparingly over the years because I knew I wouldn't be able to get a replacement.  I decided to include it in the rotation because of what had happened to another older soap.  When I opened the DB, the scent off the puck was pleasant and just as I had remembered.  But when I started face-lathering I was getting a strong tallow scent rather than patchouli.  Maybe this soap is going bad as well.  I'll lather it again in the next week or so but if the scent is strong tallow again, I may have to toss this one.

BTW, I don't plan on weighing a soap prior to each shave.  But I do want the starting weight for each "chosen" soap so that i can see how much soap is used over the next year or so.

I liked their soap a lot. DB sent me one of their vegan soaps a few years ago when he sent me stuff for Movember...it's a vegan soap that worked really good for me.

The lather today was really great.  But I wonder what that "tallow" scent was though.  Hopefully it doesnt do it again because I would really like to finish this one

I decided to include an Oaken Lab soap because it's a really great soap but I haven't spent much time with it.  vtmax introduced me to this wonderful concoction earlier this year and I enjoyed the lather so much, I ended up buying several of the scents.  Despite having a few of the scents, I had only used the brand eight times this year.  I really wanted to "know" this soap better so I included it in the rotation.  The Far Afield scent is pleasant and "woody".  I picked it since I didn't have any other "wood/forest" scents included in the group

Yesterday's early evening shave (didn't have time to post before the in-laws arrived).  Forgot to weigh it before lathering but did so shortly after

For me, this is the perfect fall season scent.  And the performance of Eleven soaps is top-notch.  Unfortunately, the Amber, Patchouli and Oak has been discontinued.  The reason I decided to include this one in the rotation is because I have a backup of the soap and splash.  And after experiencing mold on an older soap, i figured I better enjoy the performance and scent rather than let it go to waste.

Seeing as how this has become of my favorite soap bases, I had to include at least one Eufros.  The Fougere is a fantastic scent...stronger and "spicier" than the MdC Fougere.  It was mainly included in the rotation so that I would have at least one fougere scent.  I debated between it and the MdC but the fact I spent 3 months with MdC was the deciding factor to choose the Eufros

You'll actually be able to put a dent in the Eufros versus the MdC too Happy2

I actually considered using only MdC Fougere for the year just to put a big dent in it and maybe one day actually finish the tub!
