Time for Confession! (and maybe absolution?)

Confess how many days/weeks/months/years of shaving supplies you have.  Get it off your chest! You will feel better.

You can give a complete inventory, or just a time estimate or anything in between-your choice.  Remember, whatever you do not confess can not be forgiven.

Here goes...I shave 3x per week....

Aftershave:

I have about 16 oz. of aftershave in various flavors of Clubman, Cella, Avon Wild Country and Seaforth! Fleur de France (which I hate).   So I think that is enough for two years maybe three years if I stretch it out.

Shave soap:

One full tub equivalent of Cella red/Fleur de France, one full tub Cella green, and one full puck of LEA. Probably three years worth.

Blades:

I shave with SRs and only use a Valet Auto Strop with Feather blades to clean up the back of my neck and maybe some touch ups so the blades basically last forever-at least three to six months per blade.   I have six stainless steel blades and about a half dozen carbon steel blades so probably enough for five years.

In the cart:

Right now in the  Maggard's shopping cart, ready to pull the trigger is a new Pearl Shaving SE razor (Last thing I need is another razor), a tub of the new Cella Sandalwood shave creme/soap, and a 6 oz. bottle of Clubman Classic Vanilla.  Honestly, it is not for me I am buying it for someone else.....really!

(I am not counting brushes because brushes don't count, right?  Also, I have some Omega shave balm which I never use but balms don't count, right?)

Also, I am not counting any stuff I have in the gym bag, Dopp bag, etc.

So I probably have three years worth of shaving supplies.  If I pull the trigger on the Maggard's cart that would add another year.

Sigh.....forgive me Father for I am about to sin!

I can’t or my wife would post her grievances and break away like Martin Luther.

Probably more than 10 years worth of soap and aftershaves, all collected in a 2 year frenzy. Having recently moved and packing it all in several large-ish boxes, suddenly my "hobby" looks like more of a "cry for help."

There will be product for my heirs. Maybe their heirs too.

I've probably got 3 or 4 years worth of shaving soaps and blades and a couple years worth of after shaves. I don't keep things in online shopping carts but I do keep a wishlist at a couple of websites.

But razors....enough to outlast several generations. I just hope they end up in good homes after I'm gone. I do keep trying to downsize my razor collection but it keeps bouncing back LoL

Ok, here goes.

I was a little loaded up with stuff and recently decided to tear off the scab. Sent three razors I didn't use and didn't plan to use (Muhle Rocca, Muhle R89, and a Feather AS D2) to M&M for trade. That still leaves me with 9 razors. I rotate once in a while, but definitely have a favorite. In the interest of being honest, I kept my Charcoal Goods brass lvl 3 even though I can't use it without turning my face into raw hamburger. It's just too awesome a razor to part with. Oh, I'm on the list for another Wolfman.

Threw out some balm and splash bottles that I didn't use because I couldn't stand the scent. It was still hard to part with them, and I really can't tell you why.

Threw out 5 shaving brushes. One was too small (19mm boar), two had handles that were too bulky for my taste, and one had a knot that was much too big (26 mm) for my taste. That leaves me 5 brushes that I enjoy and rotate often. Now I'm on the hunt for a new brush (go figure).

Maybe the biggest step in my recovery is my newfound ability to toss a soap when I don't like it. Before, I powered through and used it anyway, not being able to make myself "waste it". That all changed when I discovered, from my readings in this forum, the excellent soaps that are available, and how much better they really are. I've probably thrown out 5 or 6 soaps from my inventory, after giving them a try, and I still have enough soap to last a couple of years. My habit is to rotate through 3 at a time.

Blades: enough to easily last me 3 years.

Getting rid of things and making room for new things is liberating.

Literally decades worth of soap. Probably buy a decade of soap every 6-12 months. And I've slowed down Smile

(I've sold hundreds, possibly a thousand or more, soaps in BST.)

30 years of just my preferred blades, probably more. That's just the Gillette Platinum. I have over a thousand other blades that I don't even use.

I admit I am powerless over shaving gear. It's going to take something bigger than me to contain my lust for lather. Tedolph, thanks for this opportunity to take an inventory.

I have 209 tubs of soap stashed around my shack. That amounts to about 26 kilos. It's all good. I don't want to trash any of it. The stinkers were tossed long ago. Nothing left but premium product. I shave every day, and on average I use one gram of soap per shave. This means I have enough soap to keep me shaving until 29 Nov 2094. That's right. I'll be 150 years old before I lather the last crumb. That's a lot of joy to look forward to. My current favorite brands are Declaration Grooming, Joserra, Eufros, Ethos, and Grooming Dept.

There are 24 brushes on my shelf. I use them all (well, except for a Zenith boar that eats lather like a hog at the trough). My current favorite is a Vielong American synthetic. Lovely, floppy thing that fits my hand perfectly.

Not counting disposables, I have 54 razors. Many are antiques, which I rarely use. I've slowly been giving these to colleagues at work, who get a kick out of learning to use an old time scraper. Of my modern razors, current favorites are a Karve Bison, a Blackland Vector Ti, and a Lambda Athena. Each is very mild but efficient.

All my aftershaves are on their way out. My skin reacts poorly to them. The old stuff is going down the drain one bottle a day so as not to overwhelm the septic system. My leach field smells heavenly. The newer bottles are going to a colleague at work. Sucker.

Blades? Every time I get a haircut, I give my barber a tuck of DE blades. He uses them in his shavette to clean his customer's necks. I'm going to start giving him two tucks. At that rate, I should be ready to order more blades in about 20 years.

Tedolph: you need that new tub of Cella.  Character
